Too much stress, not enough sleep

Too much stress, not enough sleep

I woke up with a killer headache. I use the word woke up very loosely because I haven’t been sleeping well and last night was no different. On a good note, I should reach my 12th hour of standing goal by 2pm. I’ve been going to sleep to a meditation track every night since last Friday. I started off sleeping great but then my daughter tested positive for Covid and I’ve bees stressed. My daughter is positive for Covid. My…

When did it change???

When did it change???

I woke up this morning asking myself this very question. My disability has changed so subtly but so profoundly over the 3 years I’ve been just living in my condo. I specifically remember if I’d fall I’d have to crawl to a piece of furniture to help get myself up. This chair was a major assistance piece. It was the closest furniture from the kitchen or bathroom and I used it so often to aid me back to standing. Never…

My daughter is positive for Covid

My daughter is positive for Covid

My daughter came home late Sunday night. She was going to stay home for a few days because she had a small break from work. Her classes for the beginning of the week are online. She hasn’t been home since the middle of January and we missed her. I’ve been vaccinated and I gave her kisses and hugs. In all honesty, I hugged and kissed her before I was vaccinated too. A year is a longtime to not hug and…

Time flies by

March is a busy month for me starting right out of the gate. I have plans to see people this morning, this evening, tomorrow and Friday. I love having a social life but it always seems to fall into the same week. I have my long hair appointment this week, Cut and color. I never miss my color but haven’t done a cut in a while. Letting my hair grow out some but it now has no style. No matter…

Video blogging and podcasts

Video blogging and podcasts

I wanted to share this morning was a link to the MS gym podcast. https://themsgym.podbean.com/ or for Apple https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ms-gym-podcast/id1368971662. The topic was They have various topics all relating to many obstacles and challenges we face. I highly recommend you check this out. I sometimes wonder if my blog should be a video on YouTube as opposed to the written word. In a video you’d see my real video personality and emotions. I think at some point even writing with Siri…

Ocrevus vs Rituxan

Ocrevus vs Rituxan

My infusion scheduled for March 17. I’ve been on many of the disease modifying MS drugs over my 23 year span with the disease. Betaseron still holds the record of 12 years but that also has to do with the drugs that were available when I first got diagnosed. I have been on either Rituxan or Ocrevus since 2016. I group these two drugs together for very specific reasons, they are fundamentally the same. The biggest difference is Rituxan is…

A good news blog

A good news blog

I just got off the phone with my vet. Minx had two different liver panels of bloodwork yesterday. One of them he was back in normal range. The other one is dropping significantly in the right direction. I don’t remember what she called the test but a normal range high is about 120. When he was rushed in last week he was over 1000. Yesterday he was at 368. He’s still high, which she expected, but it is a significant…

Anxiety doesn’t sneak up on you, it pounces

Anxiety doesn’t sneak up on you, it pounces

Happy Wednesday. It was happy when I wrote those two words which were over an hour ago. My phone has been ringing since. Nothing bad but diverting my attention away from the blog. Then things happened at once. Minx was about to go with my aide to the vet and he got sick. He hasn’t had anything to eat since 6pm yesterday. Why would he be sick again? Zoey has been crying and howling at the door since his departure….

Skin infection, antibiotics and the one who couldn’t deal

Skin infection, antibiotics and the one who couldn’t deal

I was at my primary care physician yesterday because I have a cut on my shin that is infected. I had antibiotics in the house and I started to self medicate and it wasn’t really working so I got an appointment. She prescribed a stronger antibiotic and a cream but thankfully it wasn’t cellulitis or any further issue that needed more care. This was my fault. I knew it was infected for a while. My Zoey never left that spot…

A horrible tail with a very happy ending

A horrible tail with a very happy ending

I can tell you many things about the last few days but I’ll start with this one. If you happen to see my blog on Friday, I had a little blip about Minx not feeling well. I even posted a picture I thought he was sick from eating pizza the night before. A ridiculous thought in retrospect. It clicked a little while after. I woke up to Minx chewing on my Afrin nose spray bottle. I just took the flattened…
