A really good friendship

A really good friendship

There are just people in my life that put a smile on my face all the time. I’m so grateful for my friends and family. I say this often and I mean it with all my heart. However, there’s one friend who just cracks me up all the time. He has the greatest sense of humor. I’ve known him since I was probably 13-14 years old. I went to both high school and college with him. I think, actually I know, it was college that forever changed our relationship dynamic.

We weren’t close most of our adult life other than the once a year text on his birthday. Didn’t mean I didn’t hold a special place in my heart for him. It was just how life went. Over the summer, my high school BFF, text me about some things going on with him. She knew if anyone could reach out, I’d want to. I was in a place in my life where I needed an easy, fun friendship, so I did.

I wasn’t my overbearing self in the beginning and I also didn’t give in to his flippant side. He didn’t have a choice with being friends again, the same line I gave to my firestick man 6 months later (Who is another one who cracks me up). I started visiting him at work. He works in a place where this was easily done. We’d talk about everything from high school to kids to the color of floor tiles. We just laughed at everything.

It’s I don’t know how many months later and it is just a fun friendship. Easy. No drama and no fakeness just a good friendship. He makes me laugh over the dumbest things. I make him laugh over my stupidity or blond like moments (even though I’m a brunette). Today I felt he deserved the post. I can say so much more about him but I know him and he’d hate this post so I’ll just leave it at that. Tomorrow I visit him at work.
