Happy Birthday Alyssa
Today is my younger sisters 45th birthday. My beautiful sister has always amazed me and I wanted to take a moment to dedicate a post all to her. She is my half sister. Growing up, I’d see her every Sunday. Thank god for her because our older sisters were either not around or ignoring us. I spent the entire day with her and don’t really remember seeing my dad without seeing her. I remember we’d go downstairs in the basement, listen to music and spin for hours. We both still talk about this. I tried to teach her multiplication tables in a closet (I don’t know why we were in the closet). I was always so close with her despite the fact that she was 6 years younger.
She is the strongest person I know. She graduated college and moved out of state. She was away from her family but she thrived. She changed jobs from her college major and excelled in that too. She was so good she was recruited to a firm taking her across the country. She married and had two amazing kids. Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t work and after some time, she picked up and moved back home to New York. She moved back to her family after 20 years. She left a job and everything.
She has had her own struggles but she always comes out the other side stronger and smarter. She is now a teacher getting her masters at night. She is an amazing person with a heart of gold. I am in awe of her perseverance and strength. I hope she has the happiest of birthdays. She deserves a dozen plus wishes to all come true.
