Who wants to date someone with multiple sclerosis?

Who wants to date someone with multiple sclerosis?

I’m afraid to date.  I’m afraid to be rejected again. I’m afraid to be hurt again. I’m afraid to fall in love again. I’m afraid of the pain. I’m afraid to have to explain the embarrassing MS symptoms again.  I’m afraid of the embarrassment again. I’m afraid of the anxiety again. I’m even afraid of the excitement of it again. I’m afraid of the hope of it again.  I’m afraid of the beginning, the middle, and the end. I’m just…

What is a multiple sclerosis good day?

What is a multiple sclerosis good day?

What is a multiple sclerosis good day? It’s obviously different for everybody.  Everybody has different symptoms, different challenges, different feelings and different things that they deal with in their daily life. So unfortunately, I can’t speak for everybody, I can only give my opinion. I want to say that I feel that anybody that has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis is a warrior.  If you’re newly diagnosed, and you’ve come through your relapse, you might have come off the battlefield, for now….

A multiple sclerosis life coach

A multiple sclerosis life coach

When you go to group meetings on the specific subjects, normally you talk about that subject. When I joined my MS support group,  I guess I thought it would be more of a round circle kind of discussion group. I’ve definitely have walked away with information that is very useful.  I’ve made friends that have been a wonderful additions.  I just thought it would be more of a support group of people talking of issues, frustrations and feelings. I didn’t…

The nor’easter means I’m home bound

The nor’easter means I’m home bound

New York and the surrounding area is expecting a nor’easter tomorrow. Basically it means that everyone in the tri-state area makes French toast. You can’t find at the local supermarket eggs, milk or bread. I’ve lived in New York my whole life. I’ve  been through my share of the nor’easter’s, hurricanes, rainstorms, and even windstorms. I have yet  to see a time where we were unable to get a food delivery made to the local store to stock their shelves….

Socrates cafe meetup group

Socrates cafe meetup group

My dad has been talking about this meetup group he joined with me for months. Every week the group discusses a new topic chosen. I could always tell by our conversations how much he enjoyed attending the group. When I went down to Florida, I asked him to take me with him. It was held in a library and there were easily 25-30 people there. That weeks topic was quality of life. The meeting is run by a leader who…

This is secondary progressive MS

This is secondary progressive MS

I said in previous posts something was brewing with my MS lately, and unfortunately it still is. A quick note to my mom, if your about to read this, while in your hut, on a beautiful beach,on your vacation, I’m fine. I’m doing what I always do, accept, adjust, adapt. Well things aren’t so great MS wise, I wish I can say they were. Sometimes I wonder, did things get worse because I stopped working? Was that constant push on…

Migraines with multiple sclerosis

Migraines with multiple sclerosis

This is the strangest topic with multiple sclerosis because migraines themselves are a very tough thing to medically see and explain. Migraines don’t show up on any MRI, blood work or Cat Scan. Doctor’s go solely on the patients account of the symptoms. The National Multiple Sclerosis Societyhttp://www.nationalmssociety.org/Symptoms-Diagnosis/MS-Symptoms/Headache  says this about headaches: Although headache is not a common symptom of MS, some reports suggest that people with MS have an increased incidence of certain types of headache. One report noted…

Butternut Squash Mac n Cheese Sauce and black cherry sauce

Butternut Squash Mac n Cheese Sauce and black cherry sauce

I know another recipe, but you have to understand… I don’t cook!!!! This is a really big deal for me.  I’ve become a cooking queen. Ok maybe not a queen but a really eager learner. I’m enjoying trying these new things being vegan.  I’m sure vegans out there have made recipes like this thousands of times. I haven’t really cooked in about 10 years. My not cooking had really nothing to do with my multiple sclerosis. Back then it wasn’t…

Just another manic Monday

Just another manic Monday

You think I ran a marathon this morning. It’s 8 o’clock, I’m exhausted. This day is not going well at all so far. It started off with in a ms issue, that I just rather not discuss. However from past blogs, I’m sure you can do your own guessing.  What’s worse is im pretty sure I brought this problem on myself. I ate leftover curry soup I made. I thought the taste might be off, could veggies go bad in…
