U2 Every Breaking Wave-Acoustic
Today my arm was hurting so much I couldn’t work out. Couldn’t even do Zumba in a chair because my arm couldn’t do the moves. I am extremely frustrated and just deflated. 8 years I’ve woke up and workout. I’m now on 4 days I haven’t with Sunday being my normal day off. Doesn’t even make a difference. My MS was still awful without working out anyway. My arm, this stupid tendonitis or tendinitis (not sure on spelling) affects everything. I can’t take it. Thanks to my shitty insurance, I can’t even get help until the end of June. WTF. I’m going in 2 weeks to see if ANYTHING can be done.
I didn’t have the right blogging frame of mind today. I woke up with this song in my head. It doesn’t have a particular meaning to anyone or anything, It is just a good song. I’ve been listening to U2 lately. After all, even though my love for them has faded, it’s was a 30 year obsession. This song, in this acoustic version, reminds me why I loved them.
Lyrics
Every breaking wave on the shore
Tells the next one there’ll be one more
And every gambler knows that to lose
Is what you’re really there for
Summer I was fearless
Now I speak into an answer phone
Like every fallen leaf on the breeze
Winter wouldn’t leave it alone
Alone
If you go
If you go your way and I go mine
Are we so
Are we so helpless against the tide
Baby, every dog on the street
Knows that we’re in love with defeat
Are we ready to be swept off our feet
And stop chasing every breaking wave
Every sailor knows that the sea
Is a friend made enemy
And every shipwrecked soul knows what it is
To live without intimacy
I thought I heard the captain’s voice
But it’s hard to listen while you preach
Like every broken wave on the shore
This is as far as I could reach
If you go
If you go your way and I go mine
Are we so
Are we so helpless against the tide
Baby, every dog on the street
Knows that we’re in love with defeat
Are we ready to be swept off our feet
And stop chasing every breaking wave
The sea knows where are the rocks
And drowning is no sin
You know where my heart is
The same place that yours has been
And we know that we fear to win
And so we end before we begin
Before we begin
If you go
If you go your way and I go mine
Are we so
Are we so helpless against the tide
Baby, every dog on the street
Knows that we’re in love with defeat
Are we ready to be swept off our feet
And stop chasing every breaking wave
