A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
Self love day 5- thank you letter to my body

Self love day 5- thank you letter to my body

Dear body, I’ve never said thank you. I’ve never appreciated the amazing things you do without me even thinking about it. You breathe without me thinking about it. Each breath is taken without the thought process first. How amazing is that? Food digest and eliminates just by your own functions. Blood is circulated from my head all the way to my feet and back up to my heart and I don’t do anything about it. The functions of the human…

Self-love day 4- a meditation

Self-love day 4- a meditation

This was given to me by my life coach for the specific reason of self-love. A story I never told her was about me and a tree. My father has always had white birches on his properties that I was always drawn to. On his last house in the back of his enormous backyard was a very large white birch. That was my tree. I was drawn to that tree from the first day I saw it. This meditation required…

Self love day 3- NICE to meet you…

Self love day 3- NICE to meet you…

When I was in my college years, I interviewed for this summer job selling knock off perfumes. In the interview the question was asked on a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate yourself? Without hesitation I said, an 8. The follow up question, of course, was why? My simple answer was because I’m nice. To this day that answer is still true. I’m just a nice person at the core. Of course I have my moments like…

Self love day 2- I rock!!!!

Self love day 2- I rock!!!!

One thing I can say for myself, is I never let MS dictate what I can or can’t do. When I was married I bought a treadmill. I’m sure you can guess, it wasn’t long before that treadmill became an extension of my closet. Clothes ended up being tossed over it more often than the treadmill was ever turned on. After my divorce I made the decision to buy an elliptical. In that decision I also made a deal, I…

A blog challenge on self love day 1

A blog challenge on self love day 1

My life coach challenged me to write blogs showing self love. It’s been something I’ve been struggling with lately. Who am I kidding, it’s something I’ve struggled with my whole life. I can self love from the neck up, I’m pretty horrible from the neck down. I judge myself very harshly based on my weight and I always have. I thought my weight gain might of leveled off and now I’m not so sure. It’s been disheartening to say the…

This is how we roll- site fixed

This is how we roll- site fixed

I’m doing Zumba this morning. I decided to do one of the longer programs which means I’d be sitting soon. I now sit on my big comfy chair, at the edge, because first I could see the doggy pad and keep an eye on what Zoey is doing, and second because I find my comfy chair has a little bounce so it helps me bop. I got tired fast doing Zumba so I sat after the third song, but my…

Daughter’s decision on college transfer

Daughter’s decision on college transfer

Wasn’t in the mood to get up this morning. My bladder on the other hand had other ideas. I have physical therapy anyway this morning. My daughter got home from her spring break vacation. She was up really early too. A rarity but it was nice to sit and talk to her. She is transferring colleges for next year. She applied to 5 New York State schools. We were hoping she’d get into 3 of the 5 knowing that she’d…

Forks over Knives Black-Eyed Pea BBQ Stew

Forks over Knives Black-Eyed Pea BBQ Stew

I tried out a new recipe so I thought I’d share it. I ended up putting this over a salad yesterday in place of dressing, it was actually very tasty. It’s very hard to find a no oil, vegan/plant-based dressing. They are mostly made with a vinegarbase which is very very acidic. This was a very nice alternative that was unexpected. This would also be really tasty over a baked potato or just plain. Some recipe notes. If you’re using…
