This week at physical therapy-strengthening the core

This week at physical therapy-strengthening the core

I asked in therapy about the issue I had in mahjong last week https://multipleexperiences.org/2019/01/04/couldnt-hold-myself-up/ with holding up myself up. We discussed the issue with my weakened core muscle. I’ve had multiple sclerosis for almost 21 years and it was my core region that was on of the first things effected by MS that never got better. It an area that has always given me issues and has always been an area we work on in therapy. A while ago I…

Trying to get funding for a disability van

Trying to get funding for a disability van

I have to admit, I never expected the handicap vehicle to be quite so much money. I’m glad at least when I started this journey I did start at the dealership first. I have a foundation from multiple sclerosis that is helping me but they certainly didn’t have enough funds for the entire van, or anywhere near it. The multiple sclerosis foundation only helps with the purchase of the conversion and they certainly don’t cover the full cost. I’ve done…

A break in the clouds

A break in the clouds

I woke up early on Saturday morning. I decided to use one of my Zumba cds and exercise in my chair. I use to to stand for the entire work out. Then I’d sit for every other song. It became I’d push through standing for three songs in the beginning and sitting for the rest. Now I barely stand for one song. Yet I still do it and for that I’m proud. I knew it would take me at least…

Steroid infusion set for next week

Steroid infusion set for next week

I’ve shared many blogs explaining how things were getting harder for me. My physical therapist, whom I been seeing for over two years, made a recommendation that maybe it’s time to try steroids. He is also notice the difference. His thinking was maybe, just maybe, this is actually some flareup of a MS. Maybe a course of steroids would take down any inflammation and give me back a little bit of my strength. Since I saw my neurologist less than…

Permanent handicap spot

Permanent handicap spot

I had a condo board meeting yesterday. I love where I live but the condo needs a lot of work. I know they are looking for solutions from the homeowners of how to get that work done. I think that they should combine our assessment loans take out additional funds and just do what needs to get done and stop piecing together each project. However, technically I’m a renter. My mom and step dad pay the maintenance fees so I…

I hate MS too!!!

I hate MS too!!!

People write in their journals all during this event, I blog. Partially because my penmanship isn’t so good anymore and my hand tires out and because this is where I work out my sh@t. Today was fine until the last ten minutes before lunch. We did a soul retrieval meditation where you find your inner child and hold them close, becoming their protector. Keeping them safe, loved and cared for. Bringing your inner child back into your heart. This is…

Day one of my retreat

Day one of my retreat

Not a bad view to wake up to this morning. I was exhausted. Slept without a bathroom break, that is a very rare. I didn’t move all night long. I needed that. It was three days that I didn’t sleep well. I was starting to get cranky. Today I lead my very first group meditation. I’ve been around meditation since I was 10 but I never guided a group. I could critique myself but I why would I. Of course…

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday

The minions in Saugerties. I loved this. It was out front of someone’s home but I made my step dad stop so I could get a picture. I love minions, how cute is this? We also went by the park and they had the most incredible mums. This was only a part but it was just so pretty. I love this life up here. So different then the suburbs of Long Island 3 hours away. I’m going to my retreat…

Accepting the stages of MS

Accepting the stages of MS

I’ve been looking to get funding for a handicap vehicle for the past few months. It hasn’t gone as well as i was hoping. On top of this my own car is a lease which isn’t over until July 2019. My mother kind of yelled at me for getting ideas in my head prematurely. She isn’t wrong but what I needed to explain to my mom that it wasn’t so much the idea of the handicap vehicle it was the…
