Tendonitis go away

Tendonitis go away

I worked out yesterday for the first time in a month. I was trying to really give my shoulder the time to heal, as recommended by my orthopedic doctor and my physical therapist. I’ve been suffering for almost a year now with tendonitis. My last appointment with the doctor was in early June and I received another cortisone shot. The shots definitely help but can only be given once every 3-4 months and even then is not a great solution….

Why continue to exercise with multiple sclerosis

Why continue to exercise with multiple sclerosis

“Exercise is essential not just for overall well-being, but also to help manage symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS). In fact, exercise might even slow progression of the disease, according to a 2012 review published in Therapeutic Advances in Neurological Disorders.” This was according to everyday health. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society says basically the same thing and adds, “An exercise program needs to fit the capabilities and limitations of the individual. It may need to be adjusted as changes occur in…

U2 Every Breaking Wave-Acoustic

U2 Every Breaking Wave-Acoustic

Today my arm was hurting so much I couldn’t work out. Couldn’t even do Zumba in a chair because my arm couldn’t do the moves. I am extremely frustrated and just deflated. 8 years I’ve woke up and workout. I’m now on 4 days I haven’t with Sunday being my normal day off. Doesn’t even make a difference. My MS was still awful without working out anyway. My arm, this stupid tendonitis or tendinitis (not sure on spelling) affects everything. I can’t…

Perseverance, persistent or just plain stubborn

Perseverance, persistent or just plain stubborn

I don’t know which one I am take your pick. If you haven’t read my post for the last couple of days, I had an incident. I slid to the floor and I wasn’t able to get up.  One of the culprits could’ve been the fact that I increased one of my medicines, Gabapentin which is the generic form of Neurontin, due to the pain in my shoulder from tendonitis. I increased it on Sunday, and the incident happened on…

Today was a very disheartening MS day

Today was a very disheartening MS day

This one is not for my family. This is a bad one, so I give you the advance warning.  Everyone’s been telling me I’m doing too much.I am a little stubborn about slowing down. I  been having a lot of trouble at physical therapy lately. I had been fatiguing not just a little but severely and I don’t know why. It’s the same routine I had been doing since November. Luckily, I had my daughter around when I got home to…

Me and multiple sclerosis continued

Me and multiple sclerosis continued

I’m sitting here with six exercises left of my P90X routine. Fuming actually that I haven’t been able to continue to finish the last six exercises.  This is certainly a first!!!!! I really just want to say go to hell MS.  This is such a sucky disease of times. It’s not bad enough that it takes a lot to muster the energy to exercise for any given person but an MS person its more of a push. I’m sitting here…

Me and multiple sclerosis

Me and multiple sclerosis

We’ve had a turbulent relationship over the last 19 years to say it mildly. There have been many one-sided fights. I’ve told my story before bug sometimes it’s worth repeating. My first MS attack (exacerbation) was sever. The entire left side of my body went numb and atrophied. I couldn’t walk, hold anything or feel on the left side. It came on fast starting in my foot on a Saturday and by the time I saw the doctor that Friday…

This is secondary progressive MS

This is secondary progressive MS

I said in previous posts something was brewing with my MS lately, and unfortunately it still is. A quick note to my mom, if your about to read this, while in your hut, on a beautiful beach,on your vacation, I’m fine. I’m doing what I always do, accept, adjust, adapt. Well things aren’t so great MS wise, I wish I can say they were. Sometimes I wonder, did things get worse because I stopped working? Was that constant push on…

Multiple sclerosis and exercise adapt, modify and repeat

Multiple sclerosis and exercise adapt, modify and repeat

It’s almost an eerie quiet in my house for 7:15 in the morning. Both dogs went back to sleep next to me on the couch. I just finished doing P90 sculpt B. I started doing the P90 series from http://Www.beachbody.com by Tony Horton but stopped when I started having issues with my shoulder. Doctor said I have tendinitis and arthritis. Lovely!!! Thank heaven for the cortisone shot that has done wonders. Anyway…I’ve completed P90X many times. It is actually my favorite of…

Life goes on…

Life goes on…

Well the little puppy makes life coordination much more difficult. Now on school days if I want to workout alarm is set for 5:45. Daughter gets puppy from that time until 6:30. I get 45 minutes to myself to workout, brush teeth, get coffee and pee basically. Then I take puppy so she can finish getting ready for school. Yes I could put her back in her crate, I know that. The reason I don’t is because most of my…
