My neurologist and me 22 years later

My neurologist and me 22 years later

It’s Friday and I’m exhausted. A shocking statement from me, right? Why do I feel like this week was so long? It just feels like I did a lot this week when I really didn’t. I am not even done. I’m off to my neurologist this morning. This is my normal MS neurologist, not the specialist. Neurologist was as expected. This is my neurologist that diagnosed me almost 22 years ago. He treats me more for my various symptoms where…

Neurologist was as expected

Neurologist was as expected

My doctor appointment went as expected. I will be continuing on Rituxan for the foreseeable future. There really is nothing on the market for me to change to at this point. The question about me getting worse, isn’t really a question, it’s more of a fact. That is what secondary progressive MS is, it’s steady decline or worsening of symptoms. That is what I have and they are really no drugs for that, at least for me. Mayzent Is on…

A sad realization about Multiple Sclerosis

A sad realization about Multiple Sclerosis

#just wanted to add this note because this was such a dismal post. A few hours after I wrote this post I realize something very important, with secondary progressive MS you are not functional one day to Stuck on the floor another. I don’t have relapses anymore. I now realize I was sick with this abscess infection and it played havoc with my MS. So yes, this is a possible future for me with MS, but it won’t happen overnight….

I’ve fallen and I can’t get up

I’ve fallen and I can’t get up

Last night was a very bad night. All my family and friends who haven’t heard the story I’m sorry you’ll be hearing it through my blog. I am fine. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t be writing this today. I played mahjong yesterday for the afternoon and got home around 3. I was completely exhausted more than normal. I started feeling achy as well. I think I was running a low grade fever because of this abscess on my stomach. More…

More skin issues after Rituxan

More skin issues after Rituxan

Something happened after my Rituxan infusion and whatever it is, it is still happening. https://multipleexperiences.org/2019/09/18/allergic-reaction-to-rituxan/. I’ve continued to get these blisters under my breast since my infusion. https://multipleexperiences.org/2019/09/17/blisters-on-breast/ Each one has left a scar so you can count how many there have been on each side. I’ve changed my bras, changed laundry detergent, even try to go bra less white home, they still come. The good news is I am seeing a dermatologist on Thursday as well as my MS…

Metro article: We believe we can stop MS, and this is how

Came across this exciting article about repairing myelin yesterday and I wanted to share. https://metro.co.uk/2019/10/09/can-stop-multiple-sclerosis-10875070/?ito=article.amp.share.top.email Twenty-five years ago there were no treatments for multiple sclerosis (MS) – a neurological condition that affects more than 100,000 people living in the UK. Today the picture is very different. There have been major advances in treatment and, following a series of more recent discoveries, we believe we can stop MS. We’ve reached a point where we know what’s causing the disease to progress….

Realistic view of multiple sclerosis disability

Realistic view of multiple sclerosis disability

It didn’t flood in the streets yesterday so no daytime pictures to show you. Although that bulldozer is still there I’m excited today because we are playing mahjong here in my building. I’m excited to play but exhausted so I’m grateful to be playing here. I feed the dogs and showered that’s it, I’m wiped out. This is why I straightened my hair because I’d never have the energy anymore to blow dry and style. I’m glad I’m still able…

A week after Rituxan infusion

A week after Rituxan infusion

Good morning happy Monday. I thought I’d give you the rundown of how I feel a week later after my Rituxan infusion. I’m happy to say the allergic reaction is healing and I’ve had no more blisters or open sores. Very bizarre. I’m still on the antibiotic and I have two more days left. I’m glad to say I am out of the chance of infection and I’m not gonna get cellulitis. All good news. I worked out yesterday for…

Allergic reaction to Rituxan

Allergic reaction to Rituxan

So I went to my doctor yesterday for the open sores on my breast. They are actually blisters that have popped and have pus in them. The fourth spot was still in the blister form. The doctor said it was a reaction to Rituxan. As we were sitting there talking, I realized this was the first time I didn’t have Benadryl through the IV. It is shocking to have Benadryl this way because it needs to be administered very very…

Scared for my Rituxan Infusion

Scared for my Rituxan Infusion

My big box from the pharmacy was delivered yesterday. In it was 250mg Solumedrol, 600mg of Rituxan, and a whole bunch of syringes and needles. I’ve done these infusion for years now. I’ve done Solumedrol infusion for even longer. This time opening the box made my stomach drop. I’m dreading this infusion. I’ve done it so many times yet this time I really don’t want to do it. I’m a little afraid. Years ago I was coming off of a…
