Serenity oil and my dogs

Serenity oil and my dogs

This is a true story. Every night I diffuse oil. For Christmas my sister got me a second diffuser as well as the scent called Serenity. She used to tell me all the time that it was the most amazing thing she slept so good and it was the most calming oil. From Christmas on, the oil was in my diffuser in my bedroom when I went to sleep.

The newly updated doTERRA Serenity Restful Blend has a calming and relaxing aroma that provides a unique user experience. This perfectly balanced, tranquil blend can be felt immediately, transporting the user to a state of blissful repose. doTERRA Serenity combines essential oils renowned for their ability to lessen feelings of tension and calm emotions, and support a restful sleep when used aromatically.

I have other scents that I love so the other night I decided to put something else in there instead of serenity. I didn’t think anything of it. Well, my dogs had a huge reaction.

My dogs used to play every night as soon as I would get to bed. It would drive me crazy. They would be jumping all over the bed play fighting, barking and jumping on me. The only time I go into my room is when it’s bedtime. So when I go to bed and I’m in my room that is not playtime for the dogs. Not really thinking much of it, they really stopped doing that almost completely. They settle in and go to bed right away. When I change the scent, they started playing again. They have driven me crazy for three days. I used the new scent twice because that’s how long the diffuser really holds the water. Then I went back to serenity but it took them another day to get used to the smell again. Yesterday was the first night they basically went to play for about a half a second and then both went right to sleep. I use the new scent Saturday and Sunday night and Serenity was diffused again Monday and Tuesday. How crazy is that? These oil’s don’t just work on me, they work on them. What a difference that’s all I can say!!!!

  1. My rescued French bull dog is so sweet but smelled like wet Doritos. Nice warm bath and a wipe down with serenity oil. Fresh!❤

  2. I have 3 dogs and a parrot. I don’t see any advice on birds. I have diffused citrus oils and lavender oil and my bird has been ok. I never diffuse in the room he is in. What else is safe for birds? They have such fragile respiratory systems.
    Thanks!!

    1. I’m so sorry I’m not sure I know the answer to this. I think any scent is ok except tea tree oil for dogs in very low dosages especially not in the same room. I’ve used citrus blend and orange (two of my favorite smells) in my living room often and had no problems.
