A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
The never ending aggravation of insurance

The never ending aggravation of insurance

I’m gazing out the window, trying to decide what I want to write about, and I’m really looking at just a wall of white. There’s a very thick fog out there. I can’t see the ocean. My dog obviously sees something he keeps barking. I’m not in a happy mood today. I’ve got two things I’m dealing with insurance about, one for me, and one for my daughter and I’m just so fed up with this stuff. I got a…

My waterview is sinking

My waterview is sinking

I’m heartbroken. I just found out yesterday what their building at the end of the block on the water. I knew they were building I just never thought to inquire. I lived by here my whole life so I never in 1 million years thought that they could be building a hotel conference center around the entire corner that will block my view of the water from my condo. These were the only plans I could find, so I don’t…

None of your Business by Salt-N-Pepa

Like I said going to share a song from the Miss Congeniality soundtrack. I must’ve seen this movie 1000 times. Everyone laughed at me when I bought the soundtrack. I admit it, I own it. This is definitely my favorite song though. Plus it’s Salt n Pepa, how could you go wrong? https://youtu.be/r2j-djuqUeY What’s the matter with your life? Why you gotta mess with mine? Don’t keep sweatin’ what I do ‘Cause I’m gonna be just fine check it out…

The sounds of an MRI

The sounds of an MRI

In having MRIs for 20 years, you get used to hearing the sounds. To me, they are extremely meditative. I end up making words to the beats of the sounds and go into the deepest meditations I’ve ever had. I’ve had several of my biggest epiphanies in MRIs. Each section they do, has this specific to droning sound. I find the more I concentrated on words to the sounds the more relaxed I become. I know this probably sounds weird….

Another day, another battle

Another day, another battle

Tough morning so far, and I’ve only been up for an hour. You ever have one of those mornings where everything seems to happen all at once? I know, everyone has them. I got a lot done it in a very short time. I got a letter from state financial aid, for my daughter, that I wasn’t approved. I had to call and it turns out I have to submit a revisal because I’m on disability. Great!!! I just need…

My disabling MS attack in 2014

My disabling MS attack in 2014

It wasn’t always a battle. I remember at 40 I was still walking pretty good. I’d have a limp every now and then, when my legs were tired, but an outsider would never know. I’d have occasional bathroom accidents that I used to hide, but back then it was easier. Most of my symptoms were invisible. My balance was never great and I wasn’t running any marathons. Hell, I wasn’t walking any marathons either but I was nothing like I…

A funny MS story…you have to find the humor

A funny MS story…you have to find the humor

I’ve written in my blog, some time over the past week, that my knees are so sore from crawling around when I’m on the floor and I have to find a place to help me stand up. Yesterday was just a bad MS day. I was frustrated, I was having difficulty walking and it just seemed I ended up with my knees down on the ground, not in falls, but I had to keep crawling around to help myself stand…

Quote challenge

Quote challenge

Forgive me, I’ve been nominated by more than one person for this. I normally don’t do the challenges because they’re difficult on my hands to set up but this one seems a little easier so I’m going to set up with my favorite quote and thank the people that nominated me. First was Jen from Tripping Through Treacle https://trippingthroughtreacle.com/ She, like me, has had MS for over 20 years. She is amazing. She blogs about her strength, what she does…

The brilliant pad for dogs

The brilliant pad for dogs

I get asked a lot how I walk my dogs. Well, I don’t. Walking the dogs became difficult after my last attack in 2014. When I had Boomer, he was 70 pounds, my daughter used to walk him. Otherwise I would take my scooter out with him. Since the day I got my little Marshmellow (yes we spell his name with an E), he was impossible to train, so he learned to go outside as well as inside. Marshy would…

Toxicity by System of a Down

Toxicity by System of a Down

Going hard-core, old school with System of a Down and Toxicity. I had dinner last night with my step sister, her husband and friends. Her husband,a big Iron Maiden fan, is becoming a big fan of System of a Down. Just made me want to put up their song today. Something different than I have ever posted as a Sunday song. This is a popular song for this group and it’s a great song. https://youtu.be/pAZJmOgYdpU Conversion, software version 7.0 Looking…
