Summer cold ?

Summer cold ?

June and July down, August to go. I see the end is coming. I might survive another summer. I certainly have been in hibernation thus far, going out only when it is absolutely necessary. Yet even in my isolated state I still managed to get sick. I’m the last 14 days I’ve been to a doctor, seen my sisters, played games and mahjong with my friends in the building Far from a high interactive social calendar. Yet I woke up…

Today, yesterday and the week

Today, yesterday and the week

I woke up this morning with a headache. Not the way I wanted to start my day. It is going to rain. Thankfully it isn’t a migraine. I actually haven’t had one of those in a while. Hopefully I don’t jinx myself. I have a happy day today. Lots of people coming over. My sister and her kids but more importantly my aunt and uncle. I haven’t seen them since before the pandemic started. I lived a few blocks from…

Too much stress, not enough sleep

Too much stress, not enough sleep

I woke up with a killer headache. I use the word woke up very loosely because I haven’t been sleeping well and last night was no different. On a good note, I should reach my 12th hour of standing goal by 2pm. I’ve been going to sleep to a meditation track every night since last Friday. I started off sleeping great but then my daughter tested positive for Covid and I’ve bees stressed. My daughter is positive for Covid. My…

A massage gun for spasticity

A massage gun for spasticity

Yesterday I purchased one of those massage guns. I’ve been looking at them for a while because sometimes I’m in such pain from spasticity. Last night was one of those nights where out of nowhere my whole back a neck tightened. I always describe this like someone took a fork and twisted it like they were trying to get spaghetti twirled around. Except it’s not spaghetti it’s my tendons. The area just becomes so tight so fast. It starts at…

Migraines and Auras

Migraines and Auras

First let me say it is difficult to write my blog in my current position. Minx likes to snuggle in my neck. I am not complaining because they are so cute. Plus I’m not having a good day and I need a lot of love. I woke up tired and with a migraine. Not a good combination. The weather in New York is not only warm but humid. Weather, Infusion or just fatigue. I was doing my MS gym exercises…

Migraines, prescriptions , migraines and more prescriptions

Migraines, prescriptions , migraines and more prescriptions

I have been fighting migraines since Saturday. During my teleconference with my neurologist he informed me that my insurance company was no longer going to cover my Relpax prescription. These are the pills I take when a migraine gets really bad. My prescription fills at 6 pills per month under the generic version Eletriptan. They gave my doctor two other options to try. The first one he gave me was Rizatriptan. A dissolvable pill that you place on your tongue….

Terrible headaches since Rituxan infusion

Terrible headaches since Rituxan infusion

I have had terrible headaches for three days. Since I have migraines already, I don’t know if the Rituxan made them worse or if it was caused by the infusion but they were bad. I have migraine medicine and I did have to take it. Thankfully I have it because I was in bad shape. Yesterday I took Ibuprofen every 3 hours. It’s been rough. Forgive my brief blog post with my quick update but I’m doing better but still…

Ouch a painful fall and a possible concussion

Ouch a painful fall and a possible concussion

I fell on Friday and slammed my head into one of my hangings on my lower cabinets. I was stunned for a few seconds when it happened. Everyone said “where was your aid?” She was right in front of me but it is difficult to catch someone when they are falling and she wasn’t close enough anyway. Technically she isn’t even supposed to catch me as per her agency. That part I can’t understand but she does anyway. My head…
