My spiritual journey

My spiritual journey

It’s hard to believe where I was 2 and 1/2 years ago. I just stopped working becoming permanently disabled. My boyfriend broke off whatever it was that we were having for the last 4+ years. It was an extremely volatile, narcissistic, unhealthy, and just a horrible relationship. I couldn’t leave him but I was an empty shell of the person I once was. Most of my friends had stopped talking to me because of him and I was alone. I…

The sounds of an MRI

The sounds of an MRI

In having MRIs for 20 years, you get used to hearing the sounds. To me, they are extremely meditative. I end up making words to the beats of the sounds and go into the deepest meditations I’ve ever had. I’ve had several of my biggest epiphanies in MRIs. Each section they do, has this specific to droning sound. I find the more I concentrated on words to the sounds the more relaxed I become. I know this probably sounds weird….

Happiness is….

Happiness is….

Doing morning meditations and affirmations when I’m in that awake/sleeping state. Waking up to the faces of my dogs because that’s ALWAYS the first thing I see. Morning puppy love before I even get out of bed. Looking out my large bedroom window and seeing the water. Coffee brewing and making the house smell yummy in the AM. Finishing a 30, 45 or 60 minute exercise. Even though I’m in a chair for most of it, there is always the…

Self-love day 4- a meditation

Self-love day 4- a meditation

This was given to me by my life coach for the specific reason of self-love. A story I never told her was about me and a tree. My father has always had white birches on his properties that I was always drawn to. On his last house in the back of his enormous backyard was a very large white birch. That was my tree. I was drawn to that tree from the first day I saw it. This meditation required…

Manifesting your desires

Manifesting your desires

Thought I do something different today. I’ve been doing this meditation for the past few weeks. This is a simple guided meditation in less than 12 minutes. It’s all about the law of attraction. Change your life and try something new. In the New Thought philosophy, the law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life. Cutting the cord meditation

Cutting the cord meditation

Back in June, I went to the Spirit Junkie Masterclass which was the most amazing spiritual high I was ever on. We learned many things and were challenged to many things. One was to put a new meditation practice into our daily lives. I meditate everyday but these meditation had more specific purposes. Some were specific for attaining life goals, some were specific for manifest your dreams and some were specific to letting go. The cutting the cord meditation is…

Meditation…quiet the mind

Meditation…quiet the mind

I couldn’t of been more than 10 years old lying on the floor in my dads house listening to someone tell me to relax my toes, my ankles and all my body parts up to my head. It was when she got to the part where we were painting the inside of our mind in black, back-and-forth, back-and-forth, back-and-forth, that something happened. Somehow or another my body seem to float.  I literally felt myself split, that part of me was above…

Forgetting to stop and smell the roses

Forgetting to stop and smell the roses

I have a very specific schedule in the morning. I wake up I brush my teeth first, feed the dogs as brew my coffee, I pour my coffee, and I work out.  Before I pick up my iPad, iPhone or anything else, I pick up my Course in Miracles book. The lesson for the day is always where I begin. I use to meditate right after, but since I got the puppy, that has gone out the window. Instead, I…

I’ve surrendered my worry, doubt and fears

I’ve surrendered my worry, doubt and fears

If you have ever read my blog or not, my biggest personal growth this year was reading A Course in Miracles. It’s a book compromised of a reading section, a workbook section and a teachers manuel. I am on the workbook section now which is a lesson a day for 365 days.  I start everyday reading the workbook. I’m currently on lesson 181. Like any spiritual path, A Course of Miracles is not a religion, it is a way of…

My acceptance is my forgiveness

My acceptance is my forgiveness

Would I rather be right or happy? I can go into the complete injustice of it all. Yell and scream, cry and be sad but in the end I wouldn’t be in a different place just maybe have a few more battle wounds. I sadly have come to the realization that I need to say goodbye to people I care about. I had this whole blog post written but forgot to hit save and ended up losing everything I wrote….
