Game day at the condo

Game day at the condo

Yesterday I had my first game day with the other retired people in my condo. For some reason it ended up only being 5 of us. We played a card game called Mille Bornes. It was fun you try to travel a 1000 miles but people can give you stop cards or accidents and other things that stop your ability to move until you pick the correct card to get out of the incident. I did not win but I…

A week after Rituxan infusion

A week after Rituxan infusion

Good morning happy Monday. I thought I’d give you the rundown of how I feel a week later after my Rituxan infusion. I’m happy to say the allergic reaction is healing and I’ve had no more blisters or open sores. Very bizarre. I’m still on the antibiotic and I have two more days left. I’m glad to say I am out of the chance of infection and I’m not gonna get cellulitis. All good news. I worked out yesterday for…

Thankful for Marshmallow and Zoey

Thankful for Marshmallow and Zoey

It is weeks like this I am so happy I have dogs. This was not my greatest week, coming off of my infusion Rituxan infusion complete, having the allergic reaction Allergic reaction to Rituxan and truthfully feeling slightly depressed and they just continued to bring a smile to my face daily. I love their unconditional love they give but I hope they feel the unconditional love I give back. When I was crabby and at a loss of patience for…

A community in my condo

A community in my condo

There was a sign on the elevator in my building Knowing I was going to be home all week I definitely planned to stop by. I really had no idea what it was about but I’m always up to meeting people in my condo. When I walked in I was the youngest person by about 20 years except for one other person. This get together was to start a little weekly club for all of us home daily. Mostly the…

Allergic reaction to Rituxan

Allergic reaction to Rituxan

So I went to my doctor yesterday for the open sores on my breast. They are actually blisters that have popped and have pus in them. The fourth spot was still in the blister form. The doctor said it was a reaction to Rituxan. As we were sitting there talking, I realized this was the first time I didn’t have Benadryl through the IV. It is shocking to have Benadryl this way because it needs to be administered very very…

Blisters on breast

Blisters on breast

So I’m sitting at my doctor’s office because those open sores on my breasts went from 3 to 4 as of this morning. Couldn’t picture the 4th spot Ouch. I didn’t even want to get out of bed today let alone sit at my doctor’s office but I have to check it out. I did learn it starts as a blister that pops and oozes. My aid pointed that out with the gauze pad attached to them. Just another thing…

Rituxan infusion complete

Rituxan infusion complete

The nurse got there at 5:30pm so it was a long night. I knew she was coming late but once I had the day to do it in my head I couldn’t change course. She offered I refused. Anyway other than having to be stuck twice for the IV, it was uneventful. However it was long and I was tired. As soon as it was finished I got into bed and slept for a few hours but that was it….

I swam a mile without proof

I swam a mile without proof

I finally did it. I counted and hit my goal of 35 laps which would equal 70 lengths and exactly 1 mile swam in my pool. HUGE difference than Tuesday when I barely made it 30 minutes swimming before my arms gave out. That day I couldn’t even get out of the pool. Go figure. It is just proof of of the good and bad days of multiple sclerosis. I was so excited hitting my goal, this was a big…

Scared for my Rituxan Infusion

Scared for my Rituxan Infusion

My big box from the pharmacy was delivered yesterday. In it was 250mg Solumedrol, 600mg of Rituxan, and a whole bunch of syringes and needles. I’ve done these infusion for years now. I’ve done Solumedrol infusion for even longer. This time opening the box made my stomach drop. I’m dreading this infusion. I’ve done it so many times yet this time I really don’t want to do it. I’m a little afraid. Years ago I was coming off of a…
