A Course in Miracles Round 2

A Course in Miracles Round 2

I heard a great line yesterday, when you point your finger in blame, three fingers are pointing back at you. I was never one to not own my mistakes. It might have taken me a little to process them but I always owned them in the end. My problem was always how I couldn’t get over how unfair it was that I owned my mistake, why doesn’t the other person. Sometimes my “theory of unfarity” became anger and obsession. I’m…

Forks over Knives Cherry Chocolate Chip Bliss Balls

Forks over Knives Cherry Chocolate Chip Bliss Balls

This recipe was super easy and came out really good. My only issue is I could have used a little MORE water to bind them better. I warn you they are easily addictive. Cherry Chocolate Chip Bliss Balls Ingredients 1 cup rolled oats 12 dates ¼ cup slivered almonds ¼ cup grain-sweetened chocolate chips 16 dried cherries 1 tsp pure vanilla extract ¾ tsp sea salt Method Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine…

Smile it’s contagious

Smile it’s contagious

Yesterday I drove to physical therapy as normal and when I was getting out of my car, I realized how hot and humid it really was out. Normally I wouldn’t go on days like that, but I was there already, I wasn’t going to turn around and go home. So I hobbled my way in and the normal secretary, Millie, was there. Not thinking anything new, I did my typical good morning smile with a  “happy Friday Millie, how you…

Here we go again, accept and adapt

Here we go again, accept and adapt

After 8+ years, I have to give up my normal everyday workout routines. I need to find something else that works that doesn’t aggravate my shoulder tendonitis. My wonderful therapists over at physical therapy have started adding in arm exercises to help build up my arm muscles again. The plan is that instead of going 2 days a week to go to therapy 3 days a week. The focus is going to change to building up arm strength to better…

Ocrevus infusion scheduled for August 7

Ocrevus infusion scheduled for August 7

Sure, it is scheduled, but the approval isn’t there. I received a call the other day from the insurance company that the expedited review has been denied. So I called the insurance company. I was told that the infusion was still under review. Under review for what??? When I tried to get Rituxan approved, the denial was because Rituxan wasn’t a FDA approved drug for multiple sclerosis. The denial letter went on to tell me based on my history that…

Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve posted this recipe before and I’m putting it up again, why? Because it is DELICIOUS!!! Actually it is because, I gave up white sugar and buying foods made with sugar, which includes my vegan cookies I eat almost daily. I decided if I’m going to consume sugar, I’m going to be the one making the recipe so I can account for the actual type of sugar and the amount of sugar used. Ingredients: 1⁄3 cup almond butter 2 tablespoons…

It’s just one of those MS days

It’s just one of those MS days

It is just one of those days when things are more difficult. It could be chalked up to sleep, I definitely didn’t sleep well last night. Most people would probably blame the weather. I don’t get this one honestly. I find my doctors and therapists blame the weather an awful lot when I have a “bad day”. I get the heat sensitivity one because I live that one but today it is 78 and cloudy. So today it’s blamed on…

My Vegan Life

My Vegan Life

Except my morning coffee, I’ve had no issues becoming vegan. I actually like it. It definitely has its challenges though. I was at a graduation party yesterday, of course, I couldn’t eat a thing. I always prepare beforehand when going on these ventures though, so for me it doesn’t become an issue. Yesterday, I ate before I went so I wouldn’t be hungry. At other events, I’ve brought my own food to heat up or brought a vegan veggie burger…

MS views and news discussion notes

MS views and news discussion notes

Id love to tell you I came out of yesterday’s round table discussion group enlightened with tons of new information, but I can’t. I unfortunately didn’t learn all that much. This is what I took away that I feel was note worthy. Dr. Krieger’s Leaky Pool analysis of MS. He created an app for an iPad and it’s only for an iPad. If you search for MS topography, you can download the app for free.            …

MS views a news round table discussion

MS views a news round table discussion

I’m attending a discussion group today for people with multiple sclerosis or care givers of people with multiple sclerosis. It’s a round table discussion group that is lead by two different MS doctors. Many years ago, I was a patient representative for the drug Gilenya. I use to tell my MS story to a group of people either before or after the guest doctor would discuss MS and how the drug worked. I must admit it was a lucrative deal for…
