I’m 45 years old and I’m getting a nursing aide

I’m 45 years old and I’m getting a nursing aide

Certainly didn’t envision this scenario when I was young. I wanted to be a baker. I wanted to go to Johnson and Wales culinary school and become a great baker, not a cook. I don’t know what when I changed that dream to going to school for Hotel and restaurant Management, but I did, since that was my degree I graduated with. I know if asked later in my 20’s I’d tell you I should have been an accountant. However…

NYS Medical marijuana card

NYS Medical marijuana card

Got to love New York State. We legalized medical marijuana but big brother is watching you. My doctor gave me the certification to apply for a card. I had to submit my information to the department of health, with the certification and my drivers license. After my application is reviewed, my card will be mailed to me. I don’t even know where to get the “stuff”. I think they have a dispensary somewhere about 20+ miles from me but I’m…

Believing you’re destined for more

Believing you’re destined for more

When you’re on a journey of spiritual growth and transformation, something pretty amazing can happen. At a certain point, you want to share the lessons you’ve learned. If you follow me, you know I truly believe in this journey. But even when that call to share is loud, I know the nasty voice of fear can be even louder. The voice of fear holds you back, saying, “Who am I to do this? What do I have to offer? How…

Sweet and sour tofu recipe found on pickled plum

Sweet and sour tofu recipe found on pickled plum

I found this recipe on pickled plum http://Www.pickledplum.com  I’ve made the recipe a few times now but I add tons of vegetables. I double the sauce and use mushrooms, bean sprouts, snap peas, corn, broccoli and anything else I see in my refrigerator. I keep the tofu amount the same  the sauce is yummy and I love the veggies with it. However, I gave myself some battle wounds cooking the other day. This is one of the difficulties dealing with MS and…

Thank you for your service-home decluttered

Thank you for your service-home decluttered

First a big thank you to my cousin for coming to my house and doing this with me. I couldn’t have done it without her. A second humongous thank you to my daughter who not only helped yesterday but did the bathroom with me today. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I almost forgot the before picture of the closet. This was a few shelves in but you’ll see the work done after we cleaned up. Three hours and six bags of clothes for donation…

Happy Declutter Day

Happy Declutter Day

This is my version of spring cleaning. Today I change my closet from winter back to summer. I say goodbye to my favorite over sized sweatshirts until next year.  I clean the clothes out that I know I’m never going to wear. I keep the clothes that I haven’t worn in probably three years, but still decide I can’t part with. It’s the same pattern year in and year out.  This year I’m getting help from my cousin. My beautiful…

A more structured life with Multiple Sclerosis

A more structured life with Multiple Sclerosis

This was a very long week. Came off an incredible high of my amazing weekend at the spirit junkie master class. Followed right by my doctor for my shoulder, getting a Cortizone shot and finally feeling better.  Going right back to New York City for another neurologist check up with my specialist. Wednesday through Thursday saw 24 hours of drama with my daughter and her boyfriend. Luckily, that ended with a three hour dinner with friends, lousy food but great company….

The lesson in a relationship

The lesson in a relationship

This is a re-posting of a blog I wrote back in August. I’ve spent the last 18 hours or so consoling my daughter who may or may not have broken up with her boyfriend of  2 1/2 years. Today is her last day of classes of her senior year of high school. She has to take one regents in math and that’s it. Prom is in 2 weeks which is also now up in the air.  About a week ago…

High dose biotin for MS

High dose biotin for MS

High dose biotin, I’ve discussed this product many times on my blog. In an article on medical news today http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315193.php Several studies on the use of biotin as a treatment for people with MS have shown positive results. One study found that people with MS who had taken high doses of biotin, reported reduced pain and improved energy levels. A French study showed that people with MS who had been treated with biotin found that their vision had improved. Scientists in Canada…

Doctors, doctors and more doctors

Doctors, doctors and more doctors

I’ll start this with the doctor for my shoulder tendonitis. I went to see him yesterday. Still flying high from my amazing weekend at my spirit junkie master class, I think I even put the doctor in a good mood.  Being that my case is slightly different from other tendonitis cases, I can’t ever rest the arm because I use it with the walker, he was able to give me a Cortizone shot early. He was actually singing as he injected…
