Staying in the vibe

Staying in the vibe

Where to begin? In December 2015, things were just bad. I was in but not in a relationship that wasn’t good. I was completely exhausted working as my multiple sclerosis was worsening.  I was sad all the time. Disconnected from family and friends.  I knew I was in a dark place, I just didn’t know where to even begin. My wonderful sister tried many things to help me and nothing made sense. I didn’t relate to anything. Then she went…

MS and depression it’s not all in your head

MS and depression it’s not all in your head

I wrote a blog couple weeks ago titled am I depressed? https://multipleexperiences.org/2017/05/16/am-i-depressed/. I agree with  everything I wrote, but when I saw my neurologist the other day, we decided to put Prozac back in my medicine mix.  Where I don’t think I’m depressed, what isn’t fully in control, is my emotions. I cry over everything. I’ve written blogs about this too. I cry over happy things and sad things, it makes no difference. According to webmd: http://www.webmd.com/multiple-sclerosis/guide/ms-depression#1 The Link Between MS and…

Part 2 My daughter’s triumph being deaf with cochlear implants

Part 2 My daughter’s triumph being deaf with cochlear implants

My daughter’s first cochlear implant was done when she was 3 years old. When I made the decision to put in a cochlear implant, I was also making the decision to make her completely deaf. She would have absolutely no hearing in the implanted ear when the cochlear was off. This is a sweet video of a young boy whose implant was turned on for the first time https://youtu.be/9EVNfd1igoE. This was not AT ALL how it went for us. My daughter…

My daughter’s triumph being deaf with cochlear implants.

My daughter’s triumph being deaf with cochlear implants.

I have so much going on in the next month I’m a little overwhelmed. I’m trying not to think about it. The most important thing is my daughter turns 18 in a week. ONE WEEK SHE’S 18!!! How did this happen? What a long road we had. My daughter was born a little over a year after I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The neurologist took me off birth control, and the pullout method didn’t work. The best accident I…
