The exhaustion equation

The exhaustion equation

Doesn’t take much to exhaust someone with multiple sclerosis. For me it was being out late two nights in a row. I’m paying the price now. Just exhausted. It’s unfortunate that the body can’t handle the simplest of activities. I went out for dinner the first night. Sitting with my friend chit chatting for hours. Far from a strenuous activity. Last night was hair night. Mom and my six week ritual of spending an entire evening in the hair salon…

Changing my body image perception

Changing my body image perception

If you follow my blog you know that I’ve discussed weight and body image many times. If you’re new to my blog all you have to do is put in the search and you’ll find all the blogs pertaining to it. I’ve had a terrible image perception of my weight and body since I was a child. This is been something I have worked on for a long time and I failed at many more. Since I came back from…

I want coffee and a hamburger

I want coffee and a hamburger

I was up early today to do a double therapy. I don’t like to put them both together but I had to this morning. I had occupational first and then physical therapy. I’m now exhausted and I haven’t had any coffee yet. I just got home. Immediately put my feet up. Have my Marshy already perched on my lap the coffee is brewing. I want coffee. I love coffee. I need a cup of coffee and then I could continue…

My birthday present

My birthday present

This year the gift from my family was a painting. My English Bulldog Boomer died almost 2 years ago and I wanted for the longest time to get something as a memorial to him. I was going to do a tattoo of his paw but the picture I actually had didn’t work. I finally decided to get a painting and I’m so glad I did. The painting is the first one without the bowl. I used a company called Portrait…

Accepting this stage of my multiple sclerosis

Accepting this stage of my multiple sclerosis

I had a good weekend. I got my 6 hour online drivers insurance reduction course completed on Saturday. Had a really nice birthday brunch with my friend yesterday. Even consumed too many Bloody Mary and was slightly drunk. I managed to not only have zero falls this weekend, I also had zero bladder accidents. I stayed up past 9pm Friday and Saturday night and still got up my normal times in the morning. I think it is safe to say…

My French bulldogs

My French bulldogs

I love these two dogs. They are such great companions with each other and for me. I’m home a lot with a chronic illness. It can seem like a lonely life to some. However, it really isn’t and that’s partly because of them. They make me smile all day so today I wanted to be grateful for my Marshmallow and Zoey.

The day after

The day after

Too much food. Too much pie. A whole bunch of smiles. I would never complain it was worth every calorie consumed. I had a really great birthday and felt love from my family all over and from Facebook friends and fundraiser supporters. My beautiful daughter spent the entire day with me and after the food fest we watched A Star is Born on my Firestick program my friend set up for me. I get so much with the Firestick. Thank…

Happy birthday to me and Happy Thanksgiving to you

Happy birthday to me and Happy Thanksgiving to you

It’s my birthday and it falls on the day to be thankful this year. I have so much to be thankful for despite having multiple sclerosis because there is so much good in my life. I’m thankful for my ex-husband because in meeting him and falling in love, we produced my daughter. I’m thankful for my daughter. My world and my younger counterpart. The best present I ever received. My beautiful girl who has grown up to be a very…

Overwhelmed with gratitude

Overwhelmed with gratitude

I’ve shared numerous times how I started a Go Fund Me for help getting a handicap van. I had some donations but it wasn’t moving most days. Since my birthday is coming up tomorrow I got something from Facebook about starting a fundraiser, so I did. I am so overwhelmed by the people that have donated to my fund. People I went to high school with, college, my family, my sorority sisters, my work friends over the years and friends…

Getting back into routine

Getting back into routine

It’s been a while, seems like months, but it’s only been a few weeks. I am finally getting back into my weekly routine. I’ve said this many times in my blogs, I need the stability of the routine. It helps me function and cope in each given week. When I’m out of routine I feel a little lost. My MS may even act up and become cumbersome. Might be part of the reason for my lethargic ways these last few…
