The Sunday edition

The Sunday edition

On Sundays I usually like to post a recipe or maybe a song. Sunday’s I don’t usually write a long winded blog. The problem is is I really haven’t cooked because I’ve been packing and I really couldn’t think of a good song that I wanted to post. I figured today maybe I would just tell you what a Sunday tradition is in my house that’s been around for a very long time. Marrow bone Sundays and cinnamon in my…

It’s Zoey’s Birthday

It’s Zoey’s Birthday

Happy Birthday to this special puppy. Zoey came into our lives a week before my beloved Boomer died. Convinced she killed him, irrationally I admit now, I would get annoyed that she was a puppy and was so needy. She wore me down with her adorable face, sweet disposition and cuddly ways. I realized very soon she was my gift from the universe. She still has her puppy ways. She tries to drink my coffee every morning. She chews up…

I miss you

I miss you

He was a dog. He was my first dog. He wasn’t here yesterday to celebrate Marshy’s 8 birthday and I missed him. He will never be replaced. No dog can ever be him. I want to kiss his head one more time. I want to hug him around the neck, tell him how much I love him. He is missed. He will always be missed. There will never be another Boomer. That’s all I felt like saying today.

Just a quiet Wednesday

Just a quiet Wednesday

It’s strangely quiet in my house, which is weird when everyone is home. Mikayla is sleeping next to me, she woke up with a migraine so is going into school late. Marshy, who just got his vaccinations at the vet yesterday, is under the blanket. Zoey is sleeping next to me and in about an hour is going to the vet for her surgery. Me, I just did my Zumba, sitting on the couch, trying to recover my legs. I…

Dogs make our whole life better

Dogs make our whole life better

It’s 7:00am and I hear the quiet whimpers from Zoey who is awake and ready to start the day.  Ugh one of the downsides to a puppy, up early. She is doing so great considering the second day with her I was in hysterics saying “I can’t do this I need to give her back.”  Well we are still battling with Giardia but I’m pretty sure my Marshy is better.  But this puppy, this puppy is super fast. She consumed…

A post for my French bulldog Marshmellow

A post for my French bulldog Marshmellow

First we know that marshmallow is spelled with an A but the story of how this little guy got his name goes like this…My daughter and I picked him up at the breeder this little white bumpkin. As we were driving home, I was conversing with my older sister (notice how I put the older dig in their ?). I admitted to getting another dog. Silence fell on the other end of the phone until finally my sister says, “is…

My English Bulldog and me

My English Bulldog and me

This was the breeders picture posted of my Boomer (the breeder called him Stewart). He was 1 of 6 in the litter. When I finally got the “yes you can get the dog” from my then husband, it was Boomer and the girl Molly left. The breeder had a family coming that afternoon to take my Boomer.  Heartbroken I said I’d take the girl Molly and wired my $200 deposit. To my wonderful delight I got a call that the…

A 10 year reflection life, MS and a world of changes

A 10 year reflection life, MS and a world of changes

It’s my birthday tomorrow. For some reason I woke up a little sad today. I think I actually became sad yesterday. I’m always sad at the middle year marks 25, 35 and now 45.  I took turning 30 and 40 fine. It seems I’m alone in the 5’s.  My divorce started right when I was turning 35.  It was such a monumental change in my life. I was still in my house.  I still have five cats running around. Boomer…

A true dog lover

A true dog lover

There are so many things in my life I am truly grateful for and I can dedicate numerous posts to each of them. Today I want to talk about the ones that can never read my post. I actually started with cats. My first apartment didn’t allow dogs. Each fight my ex-husband and I had resulted in another cat. My dad, who always owned dogs, used to say “you’re a dog person”. I started pushing to get a dog as…

My perfect Sunday

My perfect Sunday

Its Sunday today and I’m spending the day with my family. We are getting ready to go out for a scrumptious breakfast to start our day. To a place that I’m promised the pancakes are fluffy and stacked really high. Then we are going to take a little ride to find a nice town to walk around in and just shop. Take in the beautiful fall day spending time with each other. Then I’ll come home and spend a nice…
