A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
Somebody Told Me-The Killers

Somebody Told Me-The Killers

I remember the first time I heard this song on the radio and I knew it was going to be a huge hit. I couldn’t find it again. I would certain search and search and search and I couldn’t find a the song. I eventually bought The Killers Hot Fuss album at Walmart for $4.99. I think it was maybe a month later this album became huge. I lost my CD and I had to buy a new one for…

Jamie West Coast is on the East Coast

Jamie West Coast is on the East Coast

My little sister lives clear across the country. We have so much in common someone once said she’s Jamie West Coast and your Alyssa East Coast. That works for me. Today my sister is on the east coast with my niece and nephew. I don’t have all of my sisters together, since my older one is upstate, but 3 of us are. We all get along really well and I’m so excited. She is here until Wednesday, I think. We…

Peaceful and calm

Peaceful and calm

I have two favorite times of gazing at the water. One happens every day. That’s at night as the sun starts to set and the water changes to this dark bluish gray color. I just love the way it looks. Luckily I get to see it every day if I’m home at the right time. The other one doesn’t happen that often. You have to catch it at the right time and in the right conditions. It’s when there is…

High dose biotin

High dose biotin

Since I was in the hospital, this is one of the pills that has changed. First it never made my weekly pill box, which was just a complete oversight. Second, the hospital doesn’t give that out. So I must say I haven’t correctly taken my high dose biotin for a week. It occurred to me, this morning, that this could be the reason I’m having difficulties regulating my body temperature since about Saturday. I finally started taking it again 3…

Clearer than glass

Clearer than glass

The day I went into the hospital I changed my glass doors on my balcony to vinyl windows. As soon as they were installed I left my house for the ER. It wasn’t until I came back home Friday night that I had any idea how they were. The first thing I noticed is they were louder than the glass. My condo is two blocks away from a very popular summer strip of bars on the water. Even though there…

You are what you think

You are what you think

This whole hospital episode has put me in a little bit of a depression. I just haven’t been able to shake myself from it but I’m very aware that I’m in it. I don’t know if it is a side effect of the immense amount of antibiotics or if my anti-depressant got messed up last week. I know I ran out and I my prescription was picked up late but I was given them in the hospital. Maybe it just…

Regulating body temperature with MS

Regulating body temperature with MS

I almost forgot this fact, well slightly forgot this fact. However my multiple sclerosis let me know it is still here in abundance. I got that crazy symptoms yesterday where I couldn’t regulate my body temperature. I’m sitting on my chair inches away from the AC and sweating. Sweat was literally dripping down my neck. Why? I wasn’t even moving. Normally this happens after I eat maybe something a little hot, this time it happened for no apparent reason. Guess…

Home by the Sea- Genesis

Home by the Sea- Genesis

Have to be honest wanted to put up Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue but I used it already. I decided to put up this awesome Genesis song which other than the title isn’t so fitting but it is my favorite song by them. Not even sure how I came to know this song but I’m betting on my sister somehow when we were young. This song is still in my iPod and I’d list as one of my top…

Ocrevus and the compromised immune system

Ocrevus and the compromised immune system

I’m happy to report I was discharged from the hospital last night. One thing I know, from my career working in nursing homes, hospitals like to discharge on Friday to make room for the weekend influx. The infection disease doctor would have held me to today but I really wanted to go and the main doctor was for it. So what did I learn from this? First of all this happened from a simple fall. The fall gave me a…
