A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
The highest card in my hand is my family

The highest card in my hand is my family

I’ve written many posts about my family. I have said many times how much they support me, how amazing they are, and how I truly truly cherish them. I was packing yesterday, and one of my drawers are all these little notes from my dad. There  is easily 50 pieces of paper. See every couple of months my dad sends me something and in it he always writes a small note. And every time he writes me, I put the…

The vegan has left the building

The vegan has left the building

I gave it a good year but now I’m putting on weight and I have no idea why. I joined weight watchers and the first week I lost weight but then the last two weeks, I’ve gained. I track everything. I measure my portions. I even cut out sugar. I don’t get it. So I’m trying something new this week. I’m cutting out the carbs and seeing what happens. I know I sound crazy. I’ve been a vegan for a…

Sometimes MS just sucks

Sometimes MS just sucks

It’s a dreary day today. It’s raining outside. My apartments all dark except for the light of my iPad. That’s OK, I don’t have much going on except for packing. I’ve been talking so much about my new place I haven’t talked much about MS. I finally was able to see my physical therapist  to get some exercises for when I fall and there’s nothing around me to help me get up. I’m on the physical therapy maintenance program so…

I’m ready to go

I’m ready to go

Last night I went back to the condo for the first time since we put the offer in, which was back in September. The first question my Mom asked is do you still love it, the answer was absolutely. I’m so excited it is so gorgeous. The first thing I did was walk over to the balcony and look outside  and I was not disappointed. The view is even better than my picture show. Her cat was sleeping on one…

No going back now

No going back now

My apartment I’m living in has already been rented. A nice woman came yesterday and immediately left a deposit. First person to see the place. No going back now. Well hopefully we close before December 31st otherwise I’m homeless. I know we will but it still made my mother and I a little nervous. This other woman is putting notice on her apartment with her landlord so it’s like a ripple effect. Work done in the condo or not, I…

Packing to unpack moving in 7 weeks

Packing to unpack moving in 7 weeks

Now that I’m moving, I have to pack. I went from my house to an apartment. It was a lot of downsizing. Now I’m going from an apartment to a condo. So I have to downsize again. I thought it was hard moving from a three bedroom house with a full dining room, living room, kitchen and den into a two bedroom apartment. Now I have to go from a two bedroom apartment with a huge living room, kitchen, crawlspace,…

Somebody by Depeche Mode

Somebody by Depeche Mode

I didn’t make any new vegan recipes this week. I also gained weight at weight watchers. I don’t know how it’s possible but it happened. My veganism may be coming to an end…but so far I have not stopped. Anyway, thought I’d post a song. This was actually my wedding song. I had the wrong “somebody” but I still believe he’ll come along one day. Somebody by Depeche Mode I want somebody to share Share the rest of my life…

I am moving!!!

I am moving!!!

I’m so excited to finally write this post. I’m moving!!! After 11 years in this apartment, 21 years in the same town, I’m leaving. My mom and step dad bought me a condo in a neighboring town. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. For the first time ever in my life I will have my own bathroom. I will have no more stairs. I am located right off the elevator. I have a pool, fitness room, and tennis court….

It’s not multiple sclerosis, you’re just getting older

It’s not multiple sclerosis, you’re just getting older

When I was at my doctor the other day, I was explaining some of my symptoms. I thought I possibly my optic neuritis was acting up. My very first MS symptoms was  optic neuritis. It was in my right eye and it was like a huge sunspot in my field of vision. I had it once very mildly in my left eye, same thing but much less intense. I believe I had one other issue in my right eye over the…

Disease Modifying Therapies in MS, do you take them?

Disease Modifying Therapies in MS, do you take them?

I received a comment yesterday, on an older blog, about my Ocrevus infusion. What I found interesting is she’s had multiple sclerosis for 36 years and she’s first going on a disease modifying therapy. First of all I have to say, 36 years within any DMT, that is amazing!!! I know other people like that or that have stopped taking any of the disease modifying therapy drugs for a variety of reasons. I never had that option. My multiple sclerosis…
