A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
My Saturday morning ritual

My Saturday morning ritual

It seems like I’m gonna have a new ritual on Saturdays: work out then put on F1 practice runs while blogging. I am so happy I got my money back from the F1 TV pro upgrade because this dope over here gets all the races on ESPN either live or on demand anyway. I could just watch my F2 races at some other point during the week with my basic F1 TV plan. I like to see the up and…

A picture wall for Marshy

A picture wall for Marshy

Last night Minx got in my closet and walked out with one of my shoes. The shoe probably weighed half as much as he did. It made me think of my Marshmallow who used to greet me at the door and would always grab one of my shoes. In my apartment I had steps. we were constantly looking for one of my shoes before I went out. There was always one downstairs and one upstairs. If there were no available…

Titan Games

Titan Games

I got the new streaming app, Peacock, yesterday and in my browsing I ended up watching Titan Games. Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, these people that are absolute beasts compete in these crazy physical games. Each time I thought I’d watch one more game and find something else. The next thing I know I’m watching one more etc. My daughter comes home from work and is like what are you watching? Yet she started watching with me until she went out.…

Heart Rate during a Workout

Heart Rate during a Workout

I usually boost about how I know everything regarding diet and exercise, well I was just proven wrong by myself. I always thought an aerobic workout your heart rate you needs to be above 150. That is considered a high intensity calorie burn. I remember reading somewhere in weight watchers that if you could have a conversation during your exercise it was NOT high intensity. This is what I always based my goal on when I would do cardio. I…

Feeling Sentimental

Feeling Sentimental

Here’s something you might not of known about me, I am sentimental about certain things. Especially if I have something of a relative of his passed on. Everyday I’ve worn the same ring on my hand for the last 15 years. It belong to grandmother. It isn’t a fancy ring but I remember it being on her finger everyday. I don’t take this ring off. It is a constant reminder of my grandma and it means the world to me….

Finding true happiness

Finding true happiness

I was talking to my little sister yesterday and we were discussing basically that life is hard. She’s definitely been thrown a couple curve balls lately and she’s emotionally exhausted. Like so many of us she’s looking at pictures of other people on Facebook and thinking how much easier they seem to have it. she really knows that a picture doesn’t tell the whole story, but it’s very difficult to not compare. She even feels guilty complaining to me…

Loving the MS Gym

Loving the MS Gym

Good morning. It is a Grey Saturday morning here. Actually it’s a white Saturday morning. If you look closely you can see the water. It’s 8:00 am and I’ve already worked out. I can’t say enough good things about the MS gym. http://www.themsgym.com/. I just completed week 2 and I already have seen a slight improvement. no one else would notice this improvement, it is extremely minute. This is just one of the things that I noticed from doing…

New area of complete numbness

New area of complete numbness

I was sitting with both of my dogs yesterday, all cuddling on my chair. My Zoey decided to do her typical puppy love and kiss my face. I don’t know if things changed or I just haven’t realized, but where she was kissing, licking, I felt nothing. I felt the pressure of her tongue but I couldn’t feel her tongue. I couldn’t feel the wetness of the kiss. All I felt was that pressure and nothing else. Zoey has a…

New and old

New and old

I had my sister and brother-in-law over yesterday. Love them ❤️. I was showing off my new wheelchair that I have not been using. Between learning how to maneuver the wheelchair unsuccessfully and Minx being so tiny, I thought it was best to stay with my more familiar hooveround for a while longer. So I put the new chair in the closet temporarily. Minx loved my hoveround although we had a few mishaps. There were a few yelps from him…

Plant based eating with multiple sclerosis

Plant based eating with multiple sclerosis

A few weeks ago I made the decision to go back to plant based eating. Going back to Plant based eating. I wanted to get away from processed foods that once again started to fill me refrigerator and cabinets. I follow closely with Forks over Knives. https://www.forksoverknives.com/. I have their app and use a majority of their recipes. I also love Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis (OMS) https://overcomingms.org/recovery-program/diet. This is also a great site focused on fruits and vegetables, whole grains and…
