A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
Swimming difficulties with multiple sclerosis

Swimming difficulties with multiple sclerosis

Good morning world. Happy Monday. It’s a dreary one here in NY, raining. That’s ok I was home today anyway. I am about to doing of my exercise programs and I’m still deciding which one to do. I might let my aid pick since I force her to exercise with me when I exercise in the house. Sometimes I purposely don’t go swimming because I want her to exercise. However I have to admit something about swimming, it’s been getting…

Unpredictable multiple sclerosis

Unpredictable multiple sclerosis

My neurology visit was uneventful yesterday for the most part. He did a quick exam and during the exam he said I always forget how myelopathic your MS has always been. He always says that to me. First I had a remember what myelopathic meant and then I remembered what he meant. Myelopathic is referring to the spinal cord. What my doctor means is that my MS is in my spinal cord not in my brain. All my symptoms fall…

My neurologist and me 22 years later

My neurologist and me 22 years later

It’s Friday and I’m exhausted. A shocking statement from me, right? Why do I feel like this week was so long? It just feels like I did a lot this week when I really didn’t. I am not even done. I’m off to my neurologist this morning. This is my normal MS neurologist, not the specialist. Neurologist was as expected. This is my neurologist that diagnosed me almost 22 years ago. He treats me more for my various symptoms where…

A tough decision when safety comes first

A tough decision when safety comes first

I had another fall the other day. I wouldn’t say it was a bad one but I did hit my head on the toilet bowl. It didn’t even register as a fall in my Apple Watch. I kind of fell in slow motion and nothing hit hard but my head. I’m left with yet another bruise and another lucky incident. I’m going to run out of those. I think that life on my feet is at an end. Safety first!!!!…

I almost signed up for Nutrisystem yesterday. Luckily my mom called and I asked her what she thought before I push the button to purchase. She talked me out of it and she made extremely good sense as to why it was pointless. Purchasing pre-portioned, vacuum sealed, preservative induced foods against what I eat normally was extremely dumb. I eat fresh foods. I make meals from scratch. I don’t eat anything that has been processed. I read labels all…

A selfless act

A selfless act

My daughter went back to school yesterday. She took the train back. A normally uneventful trip that became an extremely horrendous night because she was traveling back into a snowstorm. Her school is only about 3-3 1/2 hours away from where we live yet the weather can be drastically different. She doesn’t go to school up a mountain but it is further into New York State than Long Island where I am. The snowstorm, which we were following, was starting…

Black Friday to cyber Monday

Black Friday to cyber Monday

Black Friday for those that don’t live in the states, is the biggest shopping day of the year. It is always the day after Thanksgiving which is ALWAYS a Thursday so this day is ALWAYS a Friday. There are a million sales in every store, crazy deals on merchandise and insane shoppers. Stores open at 12AM sometimes and people show up because the deals only last while the merchandise is in the store. You can’t get near a mall unless…

The day of the stuffing

The day of the stuffing

I hope everyone had a yummy feast yesterday. I had a very nice dinner with my mom, stepdad, sister, brother in law and my daughter. We were a small group but still shared many laughs and lots of love. There were a few things I found humerus because you have to laugh when you have MS: It was the first time I was using the ramp at my mom and stepdads home. There are three ramps in all and the…

A list of thankful Thanksgivings

A list of thankful Thanksgivings

Thanksgiving is here again. It’s time for family traditions of certain dishes made once a year with an extremely large turkey that is never eaten and always consumed for at least three days after today. My family all contribute a dish. I always make my carrot soufflé which I’ve learned to make for every single diet I am following. https://multipleexperiences.org/2018/03/16/carrot-souffle-vegan-or-non-vegan/. My mom makes a corn soufflé and the stuffing. My sister makes the soup and sometimes brings a vegetable. We…
