A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
A bad dream

A bad dream

I had a vivid dream last night. I was in a board room fighting because a new law was now in existence. This new law gave the right of the insurance companies to stop treatment of a patient if they felt it wasn’t producing significant improvements. Pretty damn vivid memory of a dream if you ask me. Can you imagine that? How would significant improvement even be defined? That wasn’t what I was in the room arguing about or to…

Spiritual session Saturday #1

Spiritual session Saturday #1

I thought I’d start sharing with you each week some of my spiritual lessons that I’ve learned during the week as a review on Saturday. Maybe somebody out there would find this helpful or could understand it. Maybe somebody out there had a question or comment or wanted to know more. This week my big lesson was I was trying to control a situation. Anytime you’re trying to control an outcome of the situation, spiritually, that’s your ego. That’s something…

From Keto back to Vegan

From Keto back to Vegan

I am finishing up the meat in my house and going back to a more plant based vegan diet. I switched to Keto to change things up and it did. I lost the most of the 10lbs I gained over the last year but I don’t like really eating this way. I miss my fruits and veggies. I miss my soups. I hate eating the cheese and I hate the butter. It was good at first but now I’m just…

Boomer is back

Boomer is back

This was the best present. I am so happy I did this. I hugged the picture for a little before I would even put it down. I missed my dog. He was the first dog I ever owned and he was a great dog. I was going to make a wall of dogs in my bedroom but I ended up hanging him in my living room. It’s where I spend the most time and I could appreciate the painting more….

Have you watched anything good?

Have you watched anything good?

I watch a lot of TV. I’m home a lot. I’ve seen most things but sometimes something surprises me, like Curse of Oak Island on History. It is in season 6 now but you can catch up on Hulu. It’s treasure hunting with millions of dollars in resources. I got sucked in praying they’d find something good each episode. I won’t spoil things but I found this show interesting, exciting, and fun. I just stumbled on this so it was…

Disability Van Shopping

Disability Van Shopping

You think this would be easy, but it really isn’t. I have seen now a place the converts Honda Pilots which I love but they aren’t located in New York. I even found handicap accessible trucks That’s crazy. Look at that!!! Then I found smaller cars with hatchbacks that would have been perfect for me before this but who knew. There are tons of cars out there plus tons of adaptive equipment that can be put into a vehicle to…

MS Focus on Research for November

MS Focus on Research for November

This month they had a few interesting articles on new MS research I thought I’d enclose. https://msfocus.org/About-Us/MSF-News-Articles/167 A new study shows an overlooked source may be able to replace lost nerve insulation and provide a new way to treat multiple sclerosis. The discovery of mature myelin-producing cells’ capacity for repair opens new opportunities to slow or reverse the disease. That may call for new therapeutic approaches that rally the oligodendrocytes to reach out with new lifelines to damaged myelin sheaths….

My boo boo feet

My boo boo feet

It happened again. I got blisters on my pinky toes and wearing shoes became quite an issue. It started about a month ago where my shoes started rubbing and I knew it was going to be a problem. Guess what, it was. I’ve been wearing the same sneakers for a long time never had a problem and all of a sudden they’ve become tight. The truth is I even know why. I didn’t take my water pill for a couple…

The exhaustion equation

The exhaustion equation

Doesn’t take much to exhaust someone with multiple sclerosis. For me it was being out late two nights in a row. I’m paying the price now. Just exhausted. It’s unfortunate that the body can’t handle the simplest of activities. I went out for dinner the first night. Sitting with my friend chit chatting for hours. Far from a strenuous activity. Last night was hair night. Mom and my six week ritual of spending an entire evening in the hair salon…

Changing my body image perception

If you follow my blog you know that I’ve discussed weight and body image many times. If you’re new to my blog all you have to do is put in the search and you’ll find all the blogs pertaining to it.
