Why I believe in the MS Gym

Why I believe in the MS Gym

Ive had pretty significant changes that have been happening regarding my multiple sclerosis symptoms lately. In the grand scheme of things they might not seem significant but for me they are. My feet are pointing and flexing. They actually do it even better than this little video but I took this right after I worked out. My chin muscles are moving my feet really well. Not bad for someone with foot drop. I started phase 2 of standing strong and…

Snowstorm results and flooding expectation

Snowstorm results and flooding expectation

Good morning world. How are you this fine Tuesday morning? The big snowstorm didn’t leave as much as anticipated, from what I can see from my window. It rained last night and that definitely changed things. Cars are easily going down the road However that little snow and ice doesn’t work well for me. Power wheelchairs don’t like those conditions much. My handicap van ramp likes it even less. When I first got my van I opened the ramp by…

I’m kicking ass

I’m kicking ass

I’m doing a new program in the MS gym called standing strong. Yep has a lot to do with standing. I started phase 1 with my therapist. It had a lot of floor work as well as chair work. So I started integrating it with my previous program. I’m done with therapy but I really wanted to continue with this new program so I was determined to find something that I could make work without needing someone’s assistance to get…

Minx ate my big comfy chair

Minx ate my big comfy chair

I have had to make a switcharoo I my house. My big comfy chair has been moved to the balcony and my chair on the balcony has been moved inside. It wasn’t a decision I wanted to make but I had no choice. It was Minx’s fault. My innocent little puppy wasn’t such a good boy. I thought he was just on the floor chewing a toy. I had no idea he was under the chair chewing wires for who…

Possible delayed Covid vaccine reaction or just Multiple Sclerosis

Possible delayed Covid vaccine reaction or just Multiple Sclerosis

I want to start this blog by saying that normally I’m a hot box. I’m wearing T-shirt’s in winter, my sweatshirt is my idea of a jacket and I normally like the air a little chilly. This hasn’t been the case this year. I’ve been cold, especially at night. I’ve been waking up having slight chills making me crank my heat in my bedroom to ridiculous temperatures. Last year I could count how many times I even turned on my…

After the 1st Covid vaccination

After the 1st Covid vaccination

I really got my first dose of the Covid vaccine yesterday. I can tell you that by the group of 10 people that received the shot with me, it definitely was who you know or who you were related too. There was a family of 4 with me. 2 elderly people and what I assume was their daughter and her husband. I can’t swear by anything but it seemed that the daughter and husband piggybacked on elderly mom and dad’s…

Getting my 1st Covid vaccine dose

Getting my 1st Covid vaccine dose

If you would believe I’m strapped in to the back seat of my van on my way to get a Covid vaccination. My stepdad is driving, mom in the front and I’m bouncing around in the back. My van doesn’t have the greatest suspension so it isn’t the smoothest ride inb I can’t tell you how I got this appointment. My mom has been crazy ever since the vaccines became available. She became more so when she became eligible to…

Taking a few days off from workouts

Taking a few days off from workouts

This is an amazing thing, I’m taking a few days off from exercising. If you follow my blog, you know this is a big, big, thing for me. If you don’t follow my blog, take my word for it, this is a major thing for me. I don’t skip workouts. They aren’t an optional thing for me to do each day. So why am I bragging about taking a few days off? Truthfully it is a mental thing. Taking a…

Hot flashes

Hot flashes

I am not sure but I might be having hot flashes. I honestly can’t tell because I get the same issue with my MS. How are you supposed to tell the difference? I can overheat, from doing nothing, and start sweating anytime. I’ve blogged numerous times about the issues with MS and regulating body temperature. https://multipleexperiences.org/2018/07/16/regulating-body-temperature-with-ms/ orhttps://multipleexperiences.org/2020/02/25/ms-and-body-temperature/. In the last few weeks I’ve been having these hot flash things. I mean the heat creeps up and I break out in a…

Loving me for me not the scale

Loving me for me not the scale

I stop talking about my weight for a while now. I still weigh in every week and Trackett, I just don’t talk about the number. I am still between 10 and 13 pounds higher than my average where I was at before I really became disabled. I still work out six days a week. I still watch what I eat. I’m still vegan, mostly. It fluctuates. I’ll takeoff the 3 pounds then it will come back and it comes off…
