Marshy’s joy run

Marshy’s joy run

My sweet, smart, sneaky boy got out the other day when I was leaving for therapy. Man he is fast. If I’m in the house, sitting in my chair, you can open the door up wide, he would never leave. Once he knows I’m going out, it’s a mad dash to get out before him. I am either in a scooter or using my walker there is no such thing as a mad dash for me. I purchased a gate,…

A quiet Saturday

A quiet Saturday

It’s just me today. Well me Zoey and Marshmallow. The elevator in my building won’t be fixed until sometime next week so I’m a little stuck. I can’t put my scooter together or take it apart by myself. Kind of leaves me with no options for getting downstairs or back upstairs while I’m alone. You know what, I really don’t mind. I’m exhausted. I think I’ve been exhausted for the past two months. I have no complaints being home by…

A bird flew over the cuckoo’s nest

A bird flew over the cuckoo’s nest

Except that cuckoo’s nest was my home. This morning when we woke up my little dog Zoey was having a bad day. She peed on my floor, and then did a little piddle on my bed while I cleaned her area. I was busy cleaning that up while I let the two little monsters roam the house. I heard a commotion but I just assumed it was Zoey once again into something she shouldn’t be in. When I came out…

5-7 Benefits of owning a pet with multiple sclerosis

I came across this picture the other day Being an absolute dog lover, I had to look for his seven reasons why. It was a tough weekend

It was a tough weekend

Where to begin. Saturday on my way to a lovely, relaxing nail appointment, when I opened my condo door I was greeted with five movers to my across the way neighbors condo. They were moving. That wasn’t the issue, it was my dog Marshy who saw them too and bolted. I was unprepared. He took off down the corridors of my condo. It’s not like I could run. I can barley walk. I’m trying to keep Zoey in the condo…

Clearer than glass

Clearer than glass

The day I went into the hospital I changed my glass doors on my balcony to vinyl windows. As soon as they were installed I left my house for the ER. It wasn’t until I came back home Friday night that I had any idea how they were. The first thing I noticed is they were louder than the glass. My condo is two blocks away from a very popular summer strip of bars on the water. Even though there…

Why can’t dogs talk?

Why can’t dogs talk?

It’s difficult to have a chronic illness. It’s difficult to be a mom when your kid is sick. In both cases you usually have s good indication when something is wrong. It’s very difficult to be a parent to an animal when they’re sick. My poor little Zoey, she woke up on Saturday just lethargic. She followed me into the kitchen as normal and ate all of her breakfast but then kind of jumped up on me and slept. It…

It was almost a catastrophe

It was almost a catastrophe

I had my electrician here yesterday doing a new outlet on my balcony. He move my door, my front door, into an open position so he can come and go as needed. When it was done I said to my aid could you lock the door. She said she was running out to take the garbage out and to get the mail. When she came back in she never lock the door. It was hot yesterday so I have all…

Unconditional love of my daily pet therapy

Unconditional love of my daily pet therapy

I don’t understand how people don’t want the unconditional love of a pet. I think everybody should be pet people either dog or cat. I’ve had them both. Some of my cats were prissy, but most were very affectionate. Although my cat’s affection was nothing like my dogs. When I had by cats, and I had six at one point, my dad always said you’re a dog person. He was right. Not to mention that I’m actually allergic to cats…
