Do I continue to blog?

Do I continue to blog?

I woke up this morning and for the first time I questioned my blog. My stats have fallen off lately and I have just questioned is it worth it still? This July my domain name, multiple experiences, will be up for another two year renewal and let me tell you, it’s not cheap. Then add in the hosting platform and security and WordPress, things add up fast. I wouldn’t, couldn’t, write my blog giving up my domain name stepping down to a WordPress site. I don’t think I’d be happy that way.

I can’t remember ever thinking this way. I always wrote my blog as if thousands of people were reading it daily regardless of the stats. I always looked at the numbers but never put much focus on it. I was more interested in which blog topics were more popular. That was more exciting to look at each day. Especially when one of my older blog posts come up. I love seeing those rise up on the list again.

I always said my blog was really my online journal to share my thoughts and feelings to anyone. I am an open book and I tell the truth about my life and daily dealing with multiple sclerosis, a day in the life. I’ve discussed every topic including the very embarrassing ones hoping to help anyone else suffering or feeling alone. My blog has helped me work through a tough breakup and has been a full documentary in my spiritual journey.

My blog is my daily therapy, and I think I just answered my question. Yes, it’s still worth it. Maybe I need to put in some work behind the scenes, but I love writing and sharing both to anyone who wants to read it and for myself. What started as a question beginning this post, by writing, ended with an answer and that’s why I love my blog.

  1. I’m glad you’ve decided to continue blogging! I also believe that my blog helps both others, and myself too 🙂
