A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
My Head on Straight

My Head on Straight

Good morning world. I am loving the cooler weather with the sunshine shining. I might have a small whiff of fall in the air. I’m ready. I took the entire week off from exercise. I am fine but those booster shots definitely knocked me for a loop. I’m glad I did both the Covid and flu together. I’m more happy to know they’re done for a while. I just looked at my calendar for October, my Rituxan infusion order starts…

Only Wednesday..,

Only Wednesday..,

I got a Covid booster and flu shot on Saturday. I was down for the count for almost 2 days. I’m doing better now. I thankfully made the decision to cancel occupational therapy for the morning. I was feeling better but I think I still needed the day to recoup. I didn’t even exercise, you know that’s saying a lot for me. As I laid in bed somewhat sleeping Monday morning, my new aide once again showed up an hour…

Game Day and Mahjong

Game Day and Mahjong

This week went fast. I don’t say that often since my weeks blend together. I am happily writing this with the sun shining windows open. It is beautifully cool. Looking forward to the fall weather. I’m actually looking forward to my oversized sweatshirts. I am excited to put on those comfy oversized shirts and be bundled up with my puppies. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Although I missed winter this year being in and out of the…

Waiting on Gastric Diagnosis

Waiting on Gastric Diagnosis

I have a new day time aide. It’s been a little rough with some of the aides I’ve been sent. I hate being that person that complains but some of these people were just useless. I can put up with a lot. If I feel unsafe with someone I usually can’t get through that. Some of these aids had no training. I knew if I stumbled during a transfer I was going down. It became very stressful each day. Each…

What is multiple sclerosis?

What is multiple sclerosis?

I don’t know how many times I’ve talked to people that had the cure for multiple sclerosis. If it was just about diet and taking vitamins, I promise you, I would be doing that. People mean well. Unfortunately, they read one story and think it works the same way for everyone. If there was a universal cure we’d know. I think that diet and vitamin can make a difference in the early stages of multiple sclerosis. The healthier your body…

Another Accomplishment

Another Accomplishment

Happy Friday. It’s been another rough week for me but I did have another major victory. I was able to get in the shower for the first time since the end of the December. I have a small shower with no bathtub. However, it isn’t flat to the floor. There is a small step that was difficult for me to navigate before I got sick. After the pneumonia, getting over that step was an obstacle I didn’t think I’d ever…

A Spiritual Reminder

A Spiritual Reminder

I just finished watching Midnight Mass on Netflix. Not my favorite series by any means. I found it kind of boring in parts. I didn’t stop watching the episodes so I guess it had something that kept me interested. Throughout the episodes there was religious conversations. I was intrigued with the different religious belief of each character. In the final episode there was a monologue about death by the character Erin. It was the summary of what A Course in…

My Full Time Job

My Full Time Job

Another week begins…truthfully they all blend these days so I shouldn’t say a word. It isn’t like I’m starting a work week. The one thing Monday brings is the list of phone calls I need to make. I find it amazing that I always have to take care of something. It is either insurance stuff, doctor appointments or calling people that didn’t return my call from the following week. It might not pay but somedays it’s a full time job….

Nostalgic Candy

Nostalgic Candy

Out of nowhere I thought about cookies my dad use to eat when I was younger. I couldn’t for the life of me remember their name. I knew they weren’t made anymore. When I tried looking it up on the internet, I came up with every peanut butter cookie that exists but not the one he use to eat. The name of the cookies he ate, which were so freaking good, I drew a complete blank. It was annoying me…
