Am I depressed?

Am I depressed?

I have to be honest, I’ve been asked this more than once by family members, doctors and friends. For probably 15  of the 19 years I have MS, I was on Prozac.  I think in my 20s I was miserable for many reasons, especially when I got my diagnosis. However, the main reason for Prozac was because Betaseron, my MS therapy drug, had the side effect of depression.  It’s like you take a drug, but then you need something to…

Up all night and it wasn’t a party

Up all night and it wasn’t a party

ALL NIGHT!!! I may have slept for twenty minutes at the most. I know at some point my dogs started playing with each other like it was the afternoon. One of them was sick, I was cleaning up my floor at wee hours of the morning. I was crying because when I’m that tired and can’t sleep I get very frustrated and cranky.  I can’t take not sleeping. It’s just the worst thing that could happen t me. It’s this…

Rewriting a story I believed for most of my life

Rewriting a story I believed for most of my life

When I was 16 or 17 years old I went to a psychic, the only thing I remember, and unfortunately I’ve always lived by, she told me I won’t have a lot of friends but the few that I would have will be true friends. I remember thinking  that’s good I’ll have true friends for the rest of my life. At 16 and 17 when girls were still backstabbing each other I thought that was a pretty good thing. As…

Social security disability doctor evaluation not what I thought….

Social security disability doctor evaluation not what I thought….

I spent the morning in the doctor’s office for my daughter. I had a 9:00 appointment and wasn’t seen until after 10:00. It wasn’t because she was sick. It wasn’t because we needed to run tests. It wasn’t even an appointment made at our request. It was made because social security required an outside doctor to meet with her for her social security disability application. I thought it was odd, my daughter is deaf, she has prosthetic hearing in the…

Perseverance, persistent or just plain stubborn

Perseverance, persistent or just plain stubborn

I don’t know which one I am take your pick. If you haven’t read my post for the last couple of days, I had an incident. I slid to the floor and I wasn’t able to get up.  One of the culprits could’ve been the fact that I increased one of my medicines, Gabapentin which is the generic form of Neurontin, due to the pain in my shoulder from tendonitis. I increased it on Sunday, and the incident happened on…

Yesterday was a very disheartening MS day explanation

Yesterday was a very disheartening MS day explanation

First I want to thank everybody. I had a lot of support from a lot of people and I can’t say how much it meant to me.   There were a few contributing factors that went into yesterday that I wanted to explain. First was my mood. I was very stressed over an email I got the night before about my daughters housing for college. Her housing agreement had to be signed and returned to the school within five days…

Today was a very disheartening MS day

Today was a very disheartening MS day

This one is not for my family. This is a bad one, so I give you the advance warning.  Everyone’s been telling me I’m doing too much.I am a little stubborn about slowing down. I  been having a lot of trouble at physical therapy lately. I had been fatiguing not just a little but severely and I don’t know why. It’s the same routine I had been doing since November. Luckily, I had my daughter around when I got home to…

The myth we only use 10% of the brain

The myth we only use 10% of the brain

I’m sure you’ve heard somewhere reading, commercials or seeing it on the Internet, the power of the brain. When I started my spiritual journey, the talk about the brain, and the power of it, made me wonder if somehow my thinking made me sick? Did I give myself multiple sclerosis? The brain is said to have such capacity and we only use 10% of it. I  honestly could say I’ve always believed that theory. It is said that 65% of Americans…

Forks over knives-chocolate mug cake vegan

Forks over knives-chocolate mug cake vegan

Who doesn’t need a chocolate fix every now and again? This was a simple, quick and tasty way to get it. Just put your ingredients together throw it in the microwave and presto!!! It’s not as tasty as the vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookies https://multipleexperiences.org/2017/04/08/vegan-oatmeal-chocolate-chip-cookies/ , but this from start to finish took 10 minutes. Can’t beat that to get a nice vegan dessert. My little notes are in bold. This is a a Forks over Knoves recipe I highly recommend…
