Ocrevus, Rituxan not new drugs

Ocrevus, Rituxan not new drugs

I received an email yesterday about a new drug for progressive MS called Ocrevus. https://www.cbsnews.com/video/new-drug-provides-hope-for-those-suffering-with-ms/I don’t get it, I’ve been on Ocrevus for almost 2 years already. Is it really still new news? I wish I could rave about this drug that it has done wonders for me, but it hasn’t. I haven’t had any relapses and for that I am thankful but it certainly hasn’t halted my progression. I am worse today than I was two years ago. That…

Rituxan instead of Ocrevus

Rituxan instead of Ocrevus

Going to see my neurologist, on my mind was questions of whether to stay on Ocrevus. I felt if I was still declining so much why be on a drug that can come with some serious side effects. Was the pros still out weighing the cons. I had two other drugs in mind Siponimod and Ibudilast. Both drugs are coming out for secondary progressive. My neuro shot down Siponimod because I was on Gilyenia and it is very similar to…

Steroid infusion set for next week

Steroid infusion set for next week

I’ve shared many blogs explaining how things were getting harder for me. My physical therapist, whom I been seeing for over two years, made a recommendation that maybe it’s time to try steroids. He is also notice the difference. His thinking was maybe, just maybe, this is actually some flareup of a MS. Maybe a course of steroids would take down any inflammation and give me back a little bit of my strength. Since I saw my neurologist less than…

Should I take Ocrevus?

Should I take Ocrevus?

If your doctor has suggested Ocrevus you are certainly moving up the ladder of disease modifying drugs for multiple sclerosis. With each of the IV drugs especially come side effect risks. Ocrevus is no exception. The most serious they show is: Risk of cancers (malignancies) including breast cancer. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions about standard screening guidelines for breast cancer. That’s a pretty serious risk to consider. They also talk about PML Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy. This is the brain infection caused…

Ocrevus colds prevention tips and natural oils

Ocrevus colds prevention tips and natural oils

The sneezing started last night. I am starting my regiment of Doterra Oregano and OnGuard today. Hopefully I could knock it out before it starts. I take Ocrevus so common colds can take longer to leave my system but since I started with the natural oils I’ve been very fortunate not to have that issue. I wrote a lot of information about the oils in this post https://multipleexperiences.org/2018/09/15/schools-back-reminder-about-oils-doterra/ or check out my page https://multipleexperiences.org/doterra-oils/. The common cold could put you…

Ocrevus infusion side effect gone better than past medicines I took

Ocrevus infusion side effect gone better than past medicines I took

Good morning. I’m happy to report I am finally feeling better. I actually started feeling a little better on Saturday. I went swimming and was able to still get around my condo without having that bone feeling fatigue. So it took about 6 days for me to start feeling better. By Sunday I was good. It was a tough week but I don’t have to worry about the infusion again until March. I can handle that. I remember when I…

Post Ocrevus infusion-still kicking my butt

Post Ocrevus infusion-still kicking my butt

Fatigue!!!! That’s the only word I could use. I’ve been exhausted but it’s been in my muscles too. It’s been hard just getting around my condo because of the muscle fatigue. I almost went into my scooter last night. Every step is difficult to take not only in my legs but in my arms holding me up with the walker. I don’t remember feeling this way last time but last time they messed up and split my dose. This was…

Post Ocrevus infusion

Post Ocrevus infusion

I’ve been really tired. I have gone to sleep by 9:00 since I had the infusion done. However one of those days was because of the Benadryl given with the infusion. I went to physical therapy but I was fatigued easily. Plus my face has a lovely rosey red cheek blush that cane on as soon as I moved. My therapist decided at the 1/2 point that it was enough. It wasn’t my greatest appointment but I’m glad I made…

Ocrevus infusion today

Ocrevus infusion today

600mg in my home. Seems like a good day to do an infusion. My tv, my dogs and my comfy chair. I’m good. All of a sudden on Friday everything worked out. They were even trying to do the infusion Friday. Crazy. Zero to sixty. So today we agreed on. What was I doing? I was free, let’s get it done.

No Ocrevus infusion yet….

No Ocrevus infusion yet….

You just can’t make this stuff up. I think the last problem has been finding an agency to come to my home for the 5 hour infusion. The reason I say I think is because I’m not even 100% sure that is what the issue is about. If that is the hold up I told them I could do it there but now that might not be an option. I’m very confused. I’m still not sure if I’m getting the…
