A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
Working out a new way

Working out a new way

So Minx, my adorable puppy, has definitely affected my sleep. Yet my body has been more run down from the changes I made to my workouts. I have been doing various workouts for a minimum of 5 days a week for a long time. As my disability worsened, my workouts were modified but never stopped. I’ve modified to a chair quite successfully. I can get my heart rate up over 130 on some chair workouts. All good but muscle burns…

Sunday down day

Sunday down day

Well I was very wrong about the fireworks. I thought everything was canceled but obviously that wasn’t the case. Where the fireworks in my town were canceled, other towns weren’t. I saw all the fireworks going off all across the horizon. It was extremely cool. Of course there were still fireworks set off close to my house as well. So much for them being illegal in New York. I had a great show to watch for over an hour. My…

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July

Usually in this blog post I’m writing about how to keep dogs calm during fireworks. My Boomer was the worst. 70 pounds of pure chicken. He used to run onto my lap quivering. I made the grave mistake one year to take him out with us. He got so scared he broke his retractable leash. That takes strength. My marshmallow was slightly better, it didn’t bother him quite as much. However those really loud ones would definitely rile him up….

Gradual disease progression

Gradual disease progression

How are you feeling? Seems that this is always the question asked by everyone that knows me. Today, I asked myself. I have written many blogs about lack of sleep Sleep deprived, many about accidents A horrible and humbling outing, and even some on actual feeling How are you feeling? Blast from the past

Blast from the past

Last night I started chatting with a friend from college. He was introduced to me by my roommate on the first day of college. My roommate and I lived together for the four years we went to Plattsburgh. We even stayed up there the summer after we graduated. We had other roommates with us as well but we were always the constant. I was in a sorority, she was far from that. It didn’t matter, we just worked as roommates….

A stomach bug and multiple sclerosis

A stomach bug and multiple sclerosis

I had a rough day yesterday. I had some kind of stomach bug. Let’s just say if I had to do a colonoscopy this morning I would be well prepared. I felt awful. I couldn’t really eat a thing. Anything I ate wouldn’t stay for long. I was dehydrated so the only thing I really could do was drink. My body was so achy. This is where having MS is always an issue. It wasn’t just the fear of an…

Joining the MS Gym membership

Joining the MS Gym membership

I’m changing things up. I canceled my Les Mills on demand. I have not yet decided if i will cancel Beachbody. There are many programs i use that I have modified to fit my needs. However, I started the MS gym one month BGB boot camp trial https://themsgym.mykajabi.com/30daytrial. I am planning on joining as a member after. Truthfully the price of the monthly membership is high, more than I pay for all my on demand workout programs. The reason why…

A lovely weekend

A lovely weekend

Another Monday, they seem to come fast. I had a really nice weekend. My stepdad was here on Saturday for our weekly visit. Love that he comes every week to spend time with me. We pick a show to watch together and each week we watch a few episodes. We just finished How to Fix a Drug Scandal on Netflix. We both liked it a lot. We’ve watched Schitt’s Creek, The Watchman, The Staircase and started Veep (I already watched…
