A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
My daughter’s dying car

My daughter’s dying car

My daughter is leaving to go back to school on Sunday. Her boyfriend is a mechanic and took her car for an oil change, tire rotation and to look at the transmission which has been giving her problems for a bit. Never really telling anyone else that the problem existed, after she got the car back, the problem was worse. With her about to leave for school I made her take her car in to transmission looked at. Sure enough…

I love my condo

I love my condo

I love where I live. I’m sure I’ve said this 1000 times but I just have to repeat it again. I love everything about my condo. I love waking up with the sun shining into my room and standing up seeing the sun glistening off the water in the channel. I love seeing the boats. I love watching out my living room window out to the balcony seeing the whole open ocean both when it’s calm in the morning or…

Swimming to music

Swimming to music

I was told about an underwater MP3 player I could wear while swimming by my friend Dix over at https://www.wheniswimfoundation.com/. Originally he told me about the Finis Duo which I bought but never used. I returned it for the sole reason it was a little pricey and I saw something that cost a lot less. I wanted to try that first. I bought the SYRYN which was half the price. . The reviews were even better than the Finis. The…

Rituxan infusion in September

Rituxan infusion in September

My next infusion is supposed to be in a few weeks for the full dosage of Rituxan. I called the infusion place that does the schedule for my medicine yesterday hoping to get a jump on things and avoid any issues. This time, for the first time, there shouldn’t be any problems. I haven’t had any insurance changes, Rituxan has already been approved from the last time and I’ve been getting my infusion with this place for a few years…

I’ve been committed to my meditation practice

I’ve been committed to my meditation practice

I bought one of Oprah and Deepak’s 21 day meditation for myself a few weeks back. It was the shedding the weight one which focuses on shedding the burden of the emotional weight we carry emotionally, physically and spiritually. I loved it and have been meditating every morning. Today I completed day 20. Knowing I was coming to the end, I was sort of disappointed because I like these mantra meditations they do and sure enough I get this email….

Are migraines contagious?

Are migraines contagious?

My poor daughter is also plagued with migraines and she had a terrible one yesterday. She was supposed to cover someone at work but couldn’t make it in. Her migraines are made worse by her cochlear implants. If she catches them in time and takes aspirin sometimes they could be avoided. She couldn’t yesterday. When this happens the only thing she could do is take off her Cochlear’s and sleep. The cochlear implants cause additional pressure to her head making…

Fatigue is in all parts of the body

Fatigue is in all parts of the body

Today is mahjong. I’m very excited I didn’t play last week. I’ve been very focused in the gym working my core to help me with the forward and backward movements in the game. I can normally make it through 3 1/2 hours of play but I still have issues and fatigue by the end. It isn’t as bad as the beginning when I first started to play. It is amazing what will fatigue the body. If I do a workout…

Gastroenterologist visit again

Back to the gastroenterologist this morning. Unfortunately the medicine Linzess in the current dosage is not doing the job. I’m on the middle dose of 145mg.
