Dealing with MS with a smile

Dealing with MS with a smile

I just got off the phone with my neurologist, we are going to stick with the Adderall for now. I mentally feel great physically I feel ehhh. The good thing about it is I’m chipper again because I’m not falling asleep feeling like I’m in a cloud. That’s the good news. I don’t feel tired even though my body gives out. I’m venturing out today to play mahjong and be amongst friends. Tomorrow I’m having dinner with my friend. Other…

Tough morning

Tough morning

I got rid of the migraine that I had for three days straight. Nothing worked until I used a little medicinal marijuana for the first time in years. That at least took the edge off because it helped release the spasticity through my back. I woke up this morning ready to take on the day pain free. I wanted to swim this morning first thing. I was excited to once again try to hit my mile goal swimming laps. I…

A Friday potluck

A Friday potluck

Ok where to start… I took my first dose of Adderall yesterday and I must say by the late afternoon I was feeling pretty upbeat. Today is day two and I honestly have no idea if I even took it. Right now I don’t feel as awake as I did yesterday. I’m feeling wiped out and it’s only 10am. I didn’t even exercise yet. My infusion for Rituxan is scheduled for September 15. I made so many calls to get…

Still out of spoons

Still out of spoons

My dogs like candy corn. What a strange thing for them to eat!!! Both of them gobbled every piece I put in front of them. I ate candy corn for lunch and dinner, good diet. I had a very long day and didn’t eat until after 5 o’clock. By then I just grabbed food. I went to the grocery store and I’m a sucker for candy corn. I wasn’t planning on eating it but my night when I got home…

Me and my wheelchair

Me and my wheelchair

I made it!!! Another summer survived. I’m ready for my jeans and sweatshirts. Im ready to turn off the AC. I’m ready to open my balcony windows and let the crisp air in through the condo. I’m ready to snuggle under warm blankets. I did ok this summer mainly because of my van and wheelchair. I couldn’t have done most things without the use of my wheelchair. Thankfully my van provides me with that ability to be mobile and safe….

Yesterday, today and tomorrow

Yesterday, today and tomorrow

I went out yesterday for the first time this week. I went to mahjong. I almost canceled and I’m so glad I didn’t because as always it was so fun. I did have a tough day and at times I thought I was going to completely collapse over the table. I just couldn’t hold myself up but then the strangest thing happened. About 30 minutes before the game ended I felt better. Like I could sit up straight without falling…

Bike MS

Bike MS

This is my step brother’s 11 year biking for MS. He bikes in my name and for so many others that suffer from the disease. I received his email this morning and as always he fills my heart with love because of his fundraising efforts and the fact he does this in my name every year. 11 years of hard work – and 7 years of top fundraising efforts. And all thanks to you. Every year, donors like you have…

Bed day 2

Bed day 2

Since yesterday didn’t quite work out as I wanted I’m trying again today. Got my fur babies close. I haven’t worked out since Monday. Giving my body the break it needs. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep more and the phone won’t ring all day like it did yesterday. This is all part of having MS and I understand that. It is a difficult part of the disease but I’m doing what I can. I’m a MS warrior like so…

Not feeling good

Not feeling good

I’m just having a tough couple of days. I am just so tired and my body isn’t recovering yet. I hate this feeling but I can’t even complain. I haven’t felt like this in a long, long time when my energy is drained for so many days in a row. It is a horrible feeling but I do have the means now to make things easier for me. Yesterday I did manage to do my Turbo Jam Beachbody workout. I…

Are migraines contagious?

Are migraines contagious?

My poor daughter is also plagued with migraines and she had a terrible one yesterday. She was supposed to cover someone at work but couldn’t make it in. Her migraines are made worse by her cochlear implants. If she catches them in time and takes aspirin sometimes they could be avoided. She couldn’t yesterday. When this happens the only thing she could do is take off her Cochlear’s and sleep. The cochlear implants cause additional pressure to her head making…
