Rituxan infusion setup, far from a smooth path

Rituxan infusion setup, far from a smooth path

My Rituxan infusion has once again been a complete disaster getting the necessary supplies and drugs. I would love to blame it all on CVS specialty pharmacy but my doctor’s assistant is partially to blame. What started a month ago has come down to the wire yet again. My third box of supplies has just been delivered this morning. All I can say is thankfully I know how my drug is administered. If I didn’t, this would’ve been a bigger…

It’s the little things that make you proud

It’s the little things that make you proud

I’ve written many blogs showing things that I’ve accomplished over the years with multiple sclerosis. That is partially what this blog is about. There have been some in reference to my daughter https://multipleexperiences.org/2017/05/27/my-daughters-triumph-being-deaf-with-cochlear-implants/. Many about my workouts https://multipleexperiences.org/2021/01/27/im-kicking-ass/Lots about attitude and positivity https://multipleexperiences.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=2350&action=edit. However yesterday I think I had one of my biggest achievements so far, I fixed the dead bolt lock on my door. This might sound funny to you but to me it was a really big deal….

The hard day is done

The hard day is done

I made it through the day yesterday but barely. I was absolutely shot by the time I got home. I got everything I wanted accomplished. I officially have handicap plates on my van. They almost didn’t let me get them. I had a copy of the original DMV doctor form. I didn’t think and grabbed the copy. According to the rules they don’t accept copies. The supervisor finally came over and did a visual confirmation and accepted the form. I…

Just a Wednesday

Just a Wednesday

Is it really Wednesday already? This week seems to be flying by. I received my Covid test results this morning and I was negative as I expected. My county passed down new protocols for someone that was vaccinated. If they come into contact with a person who tested positive for Covid they don’t need to either quarantine or test providing they are asymptomatic. The Covid tracer people are still tracking me daily. I don’t know what to follow so I’m…

New programs at The MS Gym

New programs at The MS Gym

The MS gym rolled out a brand new site and program yesterday. Based on the new program and functional maps, I was supposed to go back to the beginning again. I just completed the standing strong program. Even though I completed the program, I would have repeated the phases because I was far from mastering the exercises. I have been with the gym for about a year now and I have done each program according to the old functional maps….

Good morning and happy Monday. I am happy to say my daughter is doing ok with her Covid symptoms. Too much stress, not enough sleep

Too much stress, not enough sleep

I woke up with a killer headache. I use the word woke up very loosely because I haven’t been sleeping well and last night was no different. On a good note, I should reach my 12th hour of standing goal by 2pm. I’ve been going to sleep to a meditation track every night since last Friday. I started off sleeping great but then my daughter tested positive for Covid and I’ve bees stressed. My daughter is positive for Covid. My…

When did it change???

When did it change???

I woke up this morning asking myself this very question. My disability has changed so subtly but so profoundly over the 3 years I’ve been just living in my condo. I specifically remember if I’d fall I’d have to crawl to a piece of furniture to help get myself up. This chair was a major assistance piece. It was the closest furniture from the kitchen or bathroom and I used it so often to aid me back to standing. Never…

Skin infection, antibiotics and the one who couldn’t deal

Skin infection, antibiotics and the one who couldn’t deal

I was at my primary care physician yesterday because I have a cut on my shin that is infected. I had antibiotics in the house and I started to self medicate and it wasn’t really working so I got an appointment. She prescribed a stronger antibiotic and a cream but thankfully it wasn’t cellulitis or any further issue that needed more care. This was my fault. I knew it was infected for a while. My Zoey never left that spot…

The day after the worst of the Covid vaccination

The day after the worst of the Covid vaccination

I’m doing better today. I slept all day yesterday. I even ordered a pizza because I was too sick to microwave or mix up one of my salads. I was so sick that when I was getting a slice one fell on the floor and I couldn’t even bend to pick it up. I let my dogs eat the pizza. I thought Zoey ate it mostly, however this morning Minx has been sick since he woke up. My poor little…
