Sleep deprived

Sleep deprived

I had a rough night. I had a very upset stomach. It’s 10:00 in the morning and I already completed 8/12 standing. Every part of my body aches but my stomach feels better. I haven’t slept and wasn’t able to fall back asleep. I was consoled the whole time by my little Zoey. Cuddled up next to me ❤️❤️. MS doesn’t help without sleep. I will drag myself through the day. Good thing I have nowhere to go still. I…

Keep on moving

Keep on moving

I’m recovering from my Sh’bam workout. Have a nice sweat built up and I’m still breathing fast although I’m not out of breath. I’m always looking for new workout programs that I can do to continue to burn some calories while being mostly wheelchair bound. With this workout, from Les Mills, Zumba, and my favorites on Beachbody on demand, they allow me to workout my arms while I bop in my chair. My feet never move. I do get a…

Does having MS cause an overactive immune system

Does having MS cause an overactive immune system

I saw this somewhere in the midst of the virus outbreak and have wondered about it ever since. If I have an overactive immune system why am I in such a quarantine from this virus? According to my neurologist, it is because of Rituxan. I take a medication that wipes out a strain of my white blood cells. I can understand that. It makes sense. It was another blogger who made the comment that they very rarely get sick. It…

Bladder issues

Bladder issues

I’m not sure what exactly is going on with my bladder these days. I know I have issues, had them for years, but they’ve seemed somewhat worse over the last few weeks. I am not sure if I don’t have some kind of bladder infection. The problem is that is varies day to day, something bladder infection tend not to do. However between my water pills and Toviaz, who knows. Urinary tract infections don’t always cause signs and symptoms, but…

No fatigue lately

No fatigue lately

I haven’t been sleeping great. I’m up all night either using the bathroom or unable to get the right temperature. However I still wake up in the morning pretty bright eyed abs chipper. Starting each morning with some puppy love helps that situation. I’ve put in some great workouts in the AM. Yesterday I did 52 minutes. That pretty intense especially since I didn’t go to bed until after 10:00. That’s when I realized that I’ve been doing really good…

Sometimes you have to laugh

Sometimes you have to laugh

Well sometimes my MS issues lead to funny outcomes. I got my mom to bake Mandel Bread. These are cookies very similar to biscottis. It is one of those recipes passed down through the family for a long time. It use to be so hard to get the dough mixed so we never made them often. Then mom got this great mixer and she can make them in record time. After she cleaned every closet and draw in the house…

I really need to get a license to drive my wheelchair

I really need to get a license to drive my wheelchair

It really isn’t ALL my fault. You see these are the tires of my wheelchair Those big ones up front give the wheelchair the power but the tiny ones in the back give the direction. I can’t see them and if they are pointed one way and I hit the directional another way, that doesn’t mean I’m going the way I want to go. I’m going the way those tires in the back are pointing first. They steer the wheelchair….

Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

For my wheelchair evaluation, I’m going out…my wheelchair evaluation my neurologist needed to submit a letter of need. Due to the coronavirus, we did this via teleconference the second week of April. He’s been my neurologist for 22 years. He has files upon files upon files on May. We laugh, actually, at how many times my files have been thinned and moved to storage. My file still always remain as thick as medical encyclopedia. I explain this so you know…

Buzzing noise in my ears

Buzzing noise in my ears

I’ve realized something over the last few months, I never have quiet. My ears always have what I can only describe as a buzzing sound in them. I know, sounds like tinnitus, but it’s not ringing. Not only is it it not ringing, I hear fine, it doesn’t bother me or throw me off balance and it isn’t loud or annoying. I’ve just noticed the sound is always there. I’m not sure when I started noticing it but I know…

Hot, sweaty, cold and warm

Hot, sweaty, cold and warm

I’ve had so many blogs about this topic. Regulating my body temperature is not going well these days. It can be very frustrating. The sweating happens a lot after i eat. It is because my food is hot. The hot food causes my body temperature to rise and then I start sweating. Really makes no sense. Most normal people eat a hot meal and don’t have any issues. Not me, I eat, I get overheated. WTF!!! It happens all the…
