It started with one sneeze

It started with one sneeze

I was feeling so good and then I sneezed and that was the beginning. Yesterday I wrote how I was feeling good and today I feel lousy because I’m getting sick. However in my defense I was talking about my MS yesterday. Ugh I should have known. I had a slight nasal drip. I should have been consuming my oregano but I was lazy. I was too late and the cold started. It is sitting in my chest and it…

Not much to say

Not much to say

Not much to say because I haven’t done much. However because I haven’t done much I could say that I feel pretty good. I’ve worked out every morning doing my little Cize videos from Beachbody https://www.beachbody.com/product/about_us/executive_team.do. After that I do A course miracles followed by a meditation and then I write my blog. My afternoons of been really quiet because my car has been by my mom and my stepdad getting ready to be taken into Honda and returned. I…

My handicap van is coming

My handicap van is coming

I got a call from the finance manager yesterday going over a couple of details and she said they were delivering the van this Wednesday, like the day after today. WHAT??? They haven’t received any payments from my grants and we aren’t planning on laying that money out. “They leave it on their accounts receivable side, it’s not a problem”. As wonderful as this is for me, other than the grant from Nova, they didn’t even ask me for me…

Ouch a painful fall and a possible concussion

Ouch a painful fall and a possible concussion

I fell on Friday and slammed my head into one of my hangings on my lower cabinets. I was stunned for a few seconds when it happened. Everyone said “where was your aid?” She was right in front of me but it is difficult to catch someone when they are falling and she wasn’t close enough anyway. Technically she isn’t even supposed to catch me as per her agency. That part I can’t understand but she does anyway. My head…

So excited

So excited

I received word this morning: I am pleased to inform you that your application has been selected by the committee for funding.  Please see the attached letter for details and instructions for fulfillment of this grant.  I was approved for the last grant for my handicap van. This was truly the difference between the van being still very difficult to pay for each month and being affordable. I have never been so nervous opening an email. I never doubted that…

Happy Anniversary Multiple Sclerosis

Happy Anniversary Multiple Sclerosis

It’s Valentine’s Day here which always marked 3 things for me: The lover’s or lack of one Holiday The weekend I moved into my first house with ex-husband The start of a major MS attack that lead to my diagnosis less than a week later Today marks 21 years ago that I was diagnosed with MS. Weakness in my hands

Weakness in my hands

Wasn’t my finest dexterity day. My fine motor skills weren’t so fine today. I haven’t been to occupational therapy in a few weeks and I think it showed. It was rough today. I wanted to take the peg and tweezers and throw them across the room. It looks so harmless in the picture but we don’t use this huge tweezer. We use one of those tiny things you’d use to pluck your eyebrows. On a good day this is extremely…

A nurse assessment today

A nurse assessment today

Today my insurance company is sending in a nurse to do a six month review. This review dictates my aids hours and you just never know what is going to happen. I was changed to this plan back in July of 2018 when I became Medicare eligible. They continued with the same level I was currently receiving. My aids hours are actually covered through my secondary plan which is a Medicaid HMO plan. I have never had a problem with…

My handicap Van

My handicap Van

Yesterday was an exciting day. My step dad took me to New Jersey to meet with a gentleman from Mobility Works. This was another handicap van dealership. What I liked about them is they had a much bigger selection of used vans. I now realized I had to get a used van so it was important to have choices and options. The company I was communicating with from the beginning just didn’t have that access to that kind of inventory….

Am I getting old?

Am I getting old?

I played mahjong all day yesterday and I had a great time. Is this the sign? I had a great time. American mahjong is played with four players using tiles stamped with Chinese symbols. The goal of the game is to be the first, by picking and discarding, to match one’s tiles to a specific hand from the annually distributed scorecard published by the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) and American Mah-Jongg Association (AMJA).[2] Scoring is done by matching the points assigned to…
