A Spiritual Reminder

A Spiritual Reminder

I just finished watching Midnight Mass on Netflix. Not my favorite series by any means. I found it kind of boring in parts. I didn’t stop watching the episodes so I guess it had something that kept me interested. Throughout the episodes there was religious conversations. I was intrigued with the different religious belief of each character. In the final episode there was a monologue about death by the character Erin. It was the summary of what A Course in…

Weekend changes

Weekend changes

The switch with the new aide actually went pretty flawlessly. My current aide actually had a lot to do with that. She really took the time to show the new aide around. She didn’t have to do that. It wasn’t an aide from her agency. It was an aide that was replacing her. I think I was more impressed with her this week than I have been the entire time she’s been with me. I actually was a little sad…

Positive Attitude is a Choice

Positive Attitude is a Choice

Another week, another month. I can’t believe it is May already. I feel like I missed something, like two months. It’s a bizarre feeling, 4 months went by and I did nothing, but they flew. I have been in bed for 4 months!!!! When I wasn’t physically sick, I had some dark days mentally. It was very easy to to give up. It still is. In a conversation I had with both my daughter and my life coach, I make…

Remaining hopeful it will help the spasticity

Remaining hopeful it will help the spasticity

Inconclusive. My bladder test was inconclusive. They said that the sample contained bacteria in their that couldn’t have come from the urine alone. I was thrilled I got urine in the cup. That was a challenge in itself for someone with multiple sclerosis and bladder issues. I even was able to use the little handy wipe they give you before you give the sample. I was so proud of myself that day. So much for that gold star. Thank goodness…

Positive quotes for multiple sclerosis

Positive quotes for multiple sclerosis

I had a lousy physical therapy session yesterday. Actually pathetic was more like it. Lousy multiple sclerosis day and I have no idea why. My physical therapist says he wished he had a manic pill to cure MS. I would settle for a pill that gave me the day off or even an hour off. I miss being able to dance. I’m watching this tv show about dancing and I could never move the way they do. However what I…

Murphy’s Law

Murphy’s Law

I’m so glad this week is over. This week was tough. Everything that could go wrong went wrong, but dumb shit. Like knocking things over, my Apple Watch not working for a day, my Bionic Gym stopped working, the new coffee pot was delayed in delivery, and forgetting things I had planned. It was just one thing after another everyday this week. I’m exhausted. I have had a migraine for 3 days now and although today is much quieter than…

An epiphany moment

An epiphany moment

Have you every had an epiphany? I was listening to a video message from Trevor Wicken, the owner/trainer of the MS gym, and I had one yesterday. I joined the gym about 5 months ago and have followed a workout program constantly since the day I started. I’ve written numerous blogs about the gym, I talk about the gym to everyone I know, I see a difference and I think the site should be used by EVERYONE who has multiple…

Fighting MS starts in your attitude

Fighting MS starts in your attitude

Yesterday during physical therapy the first thing we did was put me on the floor to get up. I just knew I had the strength to do it at this time and the first time I got myself up fairly quickly. So we did it for a second time. This time was harder, but I still managed to get myself up. My physical therapist said I can give you pointers but nobody knows their body better than you. One thing…

Refocusing my thinking

Refocusing my thinking

I realize some thing yesterday, my post was pretty negative. I mean just filled with complaints about needing appreciation for doing something for somebody else. A complete opposite from my spiritual practice and what that teaches. It is certainly not about a thank you or someone else’s debt they owe you. You offer help because you can help. Help comes in a lot of different forms not always monetarily. When I realize this last night I was somewhat taken aback….

Finding true happiness

Finding true happiness

I was talking to my little sister yesterday and we were discussing basically that life is hard. She’s definitely been thrown a couple curve balls lately and she’s emotionally exhausted. Like so many of us she’s looking at pictures of other people on Facebook and thinking how much easier they seem to have it. she really knows that a picture doesn’t tell the whole story, but it’s very difficult to not compare. She even feels guilty complaining to me…
