A Blue Tuesday

A Blue Tuesday

I was feeling slightly blue yesterday for no reason in particular. I slept in, not really wanting to get out of bed, but nature called. I did a workout but is was below even my lowest of standards. I just had no energy and I was trying to lift weights. I just had a difficult time with each move even at low weights. I certainly didn’t get any feel good endorphins from my pitiful workout. I got a lot accomplished…

I pressed the med alert button

I pressed the med alert button

I got the Covid booster on Wednesday. I felt okay until the early morning hours of Thursday. That’s when I started feeling achy. I attempted to go to the bathroom and I didn’t have the strength to get myself off the toilet. Thankfully I was able to get myself up from my wheelchair. If I knew that this would be the beginning of the horrible day I was about to have, I wouldn’t have done anything different because I couldn’t…

My magic button is broken

My magic button is broken

I’ve been chilling in my room as work has begun in my kitchen/living room area. Making things more handicap accessible. Hopefully I will hit less walls with the additional space but I make no promises. Let’s be honest here, my wheelchair driving hasn’t improved. I’m actually waiting once again on a wheelchair repair. This is on the button that was placed on the side that immediately lifted the chair up. My magic button that has been a true lifesaver. I’ve…

New programs at The MS Gym

New programs at The MS Gym

The MS gym rolled out a brand new site and program yesterday. Based on the new program and functional maps, I was supposed to go back to the beginning again. I just completed the standing strong program. Even though I completed the program, I would have repeated the phases because I was far from mastering the exercises. I have been with the gym for about a year now and I have done each program according to the old functional maps….

A good news blog

A good news blog

I just got off the phone with my vet. Minx had two different liver panels of bloodwork yesterday. One of them he was back in normal range. The other one is dropping significantly in the right direction. I don’t remember what she called the test but a normal range high is about 120. When he was rushed in last week he was over 1000. Yesterday he was at 368. He’s still high, which she expected, but it is a significant…

Snowstorm results and flooding expectation

Snowstorm results and flooding expectation

Good morning world. How are you this fine Tuesday morning? The big snowstorm didn’t leave as much as anticipated, from what I can see from my window. It rained last night and that definitely changed things. Cars are easily going down the road However that little snow and ice doesn’t work well for me. Power wheelchairs don’t like those conditions much. My handicap van ramp likes it even less. When I first got my van I opened the ramp by…

Not exactly a snowstorm

Not exactly a snowstorm

An uneventful snowfall, as they said it would be, for my area. Not the blanket I was hoping to wake up to but pretty I guess. I was watching this car for a bit as it’s tires kept spinning. He was unable to find traction to get out of the lot. o I learned the hard way that the same traction need holds true for wheelchairs. Any snow or worse ice and my wheelchair can easily get stuck. A patch…

Ugh frustrated

Ugh frustrated

I’m in a crabby mood today. I’m frustrated. They finally called me about my wheelchair at 5:30 last night. I didn’t recognize the number so I didn’t pick it up and they told me to call back. Of course they close at five so calling back did nothing. I’ve been dealing with this chair that looks like this It has been incredibly difficult let alone not safe. I’m frustrated trying to maneuver and not hit things because I’m steering almost…

New and old

New and old

I had my sister and brother-in-law over yesterday. Love them ❤️. I was showing off my new wheelchair that I have not been using. Between learning how to maneuver the wheelchair unsuccessfully and Minx being so tiny, I thought it was best to stay with my more familiar hooveround for a while longer. So I put the new chair in the closet temporarily. Minx loved my hoveround although we had a few mishaps. There were a few yelps from him…

Defensive driving course for wheelchairs

Defensive driving course for wheelchairs

My daughter always says I can’t drive. She doesn’t mean my car, she is talking about my wheelchair. I have had a few mishaps and rolled over a few feet and possibly a paw or two. In my defense they weren’t paying attention to my lack of direction and could have moved out of the way faster. However looking around my condo, I might see evidence to support her argument…. I didn’t even take pictures of the kitchen and the…
