A family gathering always worth it
I had a Bar Mitzvah yesterday. That’s when a boy (Bat Mitzvah for a girl) turns 13 and becomes an adult in the Jewish religion. It was my 1st cousins son’s event. I was at her Bat Mitzvah 28 years before. Ok that’s one way to put the whole age thing into perspective.
Dressing in simple clothes is overwhelming adding the fancy outfit and full make up…Well I gave myself plenty of time to work in stages to hopefully prevent fatigue. That’s how I have to do everything now. I had my hair blown out the day before which was a huge help. Showered the night before as well. With my progression of multiple sclerosis I fatigue so easily and I knew I had a very long day ahead every shortcut helps. That just left makeup and clothes for the morning. I put on my makeup in pieces, foundation, lips, eyes, resting in between each. Getting dressed was a little more difficult because there were pieces but I had everything ready and sat in my bridge chair, given to me thankfully by my step sister, and got dressed. My daughter helped with my shoes and VIOLA, I was ready. I didn’t bother with earring set or other jewelry other than what I always wear.
These events are so great because I was able to see, talk and laugh with people I haven’t seen in a while. Older and younger cousins 2nd, 3rd once removed I don’t know how the actual term but cousins in lots of extensions. My great Aunt was there whom I probably haven’t seen in 4-5 years. It is just such a wonderful way to spend a day. It’s unfortunate that is becomes so few and far between. It’s at big events, such as a wedding or a Bar Mitzvah or at an unfortunate funeral, that we get together but we all made a plan that hopefully we will keep.
My family warms my heart. They are all wonderful people who I honestly love spending time with. To my cousin and her husband who through a gorgeous affair, thank you for having us. To the a Bar Mitzvah boy, Congratulations. To my family I love you. To my multiple sclerosis, you gave me a good day yesterday and I thank you.
This is my daughter and I ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I hear you! Getting dressed is the worst part of my day. I feel like I need to take a nap afterwards!
The shower has been my nemesis but I’ve learned to do it before bed. Deal with my hair the next day. ?
