Happiness is two dogs and a comfy chair

Happiness is two dogs and a comfy chair

I’m exhausted. I just can’t start this blog any other way. I’ve been tired all week, shocking, I know. I think a major part of my fatigue has been the broken arms of my wheelchair. It was so difficult to get myself in position with that broken arm. I had my appointment yesterday. They were coming between the hours of 12-4. They showed up at 6:45. I was just so thankful they came I didn’t care what time it was….

A massage gun for spasticity

A massage gun for spasticity

Yesterday I purchased one of those massage guns. I’ve been looking at them for a while because sometimes I’m in such pain from spasticity. Last night was one of those nights where out of nowhere my whole back a neck tightened. I always describe this like someone took a fork and twisted it like they were trying to get spaghetti twirled around. Except it’s not spaghetti it’s my tendons. The area just becomes so tight so fast. It starts at…

Today is a new day

Today is a new day

Yesterday was not such a great day. I wasn’t even able to get through my workout. I was interrupted by a trip to the bathroom that unfortunately showed my fatigue. I must give myself credit here because we all know I usually push instead of stopping. Persistent isn’t always a good thing. I had physical therapy later in the day and I did some walking. However I hit fatigue fairly quickly with that too. Things went downhill from there. The…

Thankful for the connections made through blogging

Thankful for the connections made through blogging

Over the years blogging, I’ve connected with many people that have multiple sclerosis or some other chronic disease. I’ve even connected with people who just love dogs like I do. I have even developed a cherished online friendship with a few of these people. I’ve crossed paths with so many that have been an inspiration to me, consoled me in my dark times, commiserated with me on my various challenges, congratulated me on my conquests and laughed with me over…

Knowledge is power

Knowledge is power

We are doing a little better here. Thankfully the Allen key set my daughter purchased was indeed the correct set. With the help of my friend (who also did my nails), we fixed the one side. Certainly makes driving a whole lot easier. I have an appointment for the repair people to come next Thursday. They are only in my area Tuesday and Thursday and this week is thanksgiving. However, I did have a technician face time me yesterday to…

Ugh frustrated

Ugh frustrated

I’m in a crabby mood today. I’m frustrated. They finally called me about my wheelchair at 5:30 last night. I didn’t recognize the number so I didn’t pick it up and they told me to call back. Of course they close at five so calling back did nothing. I’ve been dealing with this chair that looks like this It has been incredibly difficult let alone not safe. I’m frustrated trying to maneuver and not hit things because I’m steering almost…

A bad day can be just that, a day

A bad day can be just that, a day

For the many bad days of multiple sclerosis, there are better ones as well. Yesterday was one of those days. I started off with a workout as usual. My energy level was definitely high and I was able to double up on all the arm exercises. I had one of those workouts where I was sweating and my heart was pumping. I was tired but in a good way when I was finished. The way you should feel after a…

Sometimes I wish it wasn’t so damn hard

Sometimes I wish it wasn’t so damn hard

Friday was a tough day. I wrote how it started Persistent isn’t always a good thing but it never got better. I was exhausted most of the afternoon. My older sister came for a quick visit with her family but she too was having a tough week. I opened a bottle of wine for her. She poured some for the both of us. One of my favorite wines a JLohr Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to dinners with my dad, I always…

Persistent isn’t always a good thing

Persistent isn’t always a good thing

Rough morning and it was completely my fault. I decided to wear jeans today for the first time in 8 months. I figured now that I’m wearing this nightgown to bed, let’s not dress like a slob. I got my pants on with a little effort. I don’t unbutton or unzip my jeans since it is difficult for my hands to latch buttons. My pants fit but they usually come up with slightly less effort. I’m not sure if it…

Simple things to make life a little easier

Simple things to make life a little easier

First let me say happy Veterans Day. A very grateful thank you for all that have served in our military forces. That is truly a brave and courageous act that should never be unrecognized by any citizen of the United States. I was supposed to have my yearly physical yesterday. It took me two months to get this appointment because of Covid. I was called early in the morning that the doctor had to cancel because she was unwell. I…
