Rituxan infusion in September
My next infusion is supposed to be in a few weeks for the full dosage of Rituxan. I called the infusion place that does the schedule for my medicine yesterday hoping to get a jump on things and avoid any issues. This time, for the first time, there shouldn’t be any problems. I haven’t had any insurance changes, Rituxan has already been approved from the last time and I’ve been getting my infusion with this place for a few years now. However, I have yet to have a smooth experience with the scheduling of my infusions.
I was on Ocrevus and switched back to Rituxan because I felt it had more of a drug history. I was forced by insurance to be on Ocrevus because Rituxan is technically not approved for MS. These drugs are very similar and I’ve blogged about them many times. https://multipleexperiences.org/2017/06/28/ocrelizumab-ocrevus-versus-rituximab-rituxan/. I had to go through the ordeal of getting it approved again last time I did my infusion. https://multipleexperiences.org/2019/03/14/hallelujah-rituxan-was-approved/. This time everything should be in place and I should finally have an easy stress free time getting my infusion done.
So I called yesterday and they were supposed to call me back because my scheduler was in a meeting. I never got a call back. You know when you just get a feeling? I can’t go through all the bullshit and aggravation getting this infusion every six months. I know it is only a day and I’m not freaking yet I’m just rolling my eyes ? at the thought of this.
Switching infusion places can also be a pain and this one does this 6 hour infusion in my house. I don’t want to go through that hoop either. Positive thoughts and positive thinking. I have plenty of time I’m always early on the jump. No worries ? I hope.
