A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
A massage gun for spasticity

A massage gun for spasticity

Yesterday I purchased one of those massage guns. I’ve been looking at them for a while because sometimes I’m in such pain from spasticity. Last night was one of those nights where out of nowhere my whole back a neck tightened. I always describe this like someone took a fork and twisted it like they were trying to get spaghetti twirled around. Except it’s not spaghetti it’s my tendons. The area just becomes so tight so fast. It starts at…

No other alternative

No other alternative

My Zoey was diagnosed once again with giardia that pesky parasite. Unfortunately it was Minx who brought it in when he came to us. Very unusual I thought for a breeder. Anyway a round of treatment and Minx was cured. We even treated Zoey as a precaution because my Zoey has a disgusting habit of eating poop. When Minx turned up clean a few weeks later, the matter was put to rest, or so I thought. Zoey started getting sick…

Today is a new day

Today is a new day

Yesterday was not such a great day. I wasn’t even able to get through my workout. I was interrupted by a trip to the bathroom that unfortunately showed my fatigue. I must give myself credit here because we all know I usually push instead of stopping. Persistent isn’t always a good thing. I had physical therapy later in the day and I did some walking. However I hit fatigue fairly quickly with that too. Things went downhill from there. The…

Sakara food delivery so much thanks for a great gift

Sakara food delivery so much thanks for a great gift

My birthday present started this week. I enrolled in a weekly plan with Sakara. I originally found this food delivery company through my cousin and I got a scholarship for a full week of their food. https://multipleexperiences.org/2020/10/06/my-sakara-journey-begins/. It was so good, so fresh and perfect for me except the price. I knew I didn’t need a full week of food. It was way to much so that helped slightly because you can customize the weekly delivery. First I knocked out…

Thankful for the connections made through blogging

Thankful for the connections made through blogging

Over the years blogging, I’ve connected with many people that have multiple sclerosis or some other chronic disease. I’ve even connected with people who just love dogs like I do. I have even developed a cherished online friendship with a few of these people. I’ve crossed paths with so many that have been an inspiration to me, consoled me in my dark times, commiserated with me on my various challenges, congratulated me on my conquests and laughed with me over…

A thanksgiving tale

A thanksgiving tale

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I had this wonderful idea of what I was going to post today, but activities of my early morning took over my headlines. It was roughly 4:00am, we, Zoey,Minx and myself, were all sleeping soundly when all of a sudden…. Minx immediately starts barking. I wake up rattled. Zoey is up running on the bed from one side to the other. What a way to wake up. You have no clue what just happened. There were no lights…

Knowledge is power

Knowledge is power

We are doing a little better here. Thankfully the Allen key set my daughter purchased was indeed the correct set. With the help of my friend (who also did my nails), we fixed the one side. Certainly makes driving a whole lot easier. I have an appointment for the repair people to come next Thursday. They are only in my area Tuesday and Thursday and this week is thanksgiving. However, I did have a technician face time me yesterday to…

Ugh frustrated

Ugh frustrated

I’m in a crabby mood today. I’m frustrated. They finally called me about my wheelchair at 5:30 last night. I didn’t recognize the number so I didn’t pick it up and they told me to call back. Of course they close at five so calling back did nothing. I’ve been dealing with this chair that looks like this It has been incredibly difficult let alone not safe. I’m frustrated trying to maneuver and not hit things because I’m steering almost…

Goal accomplished

Goal accomplished

I accomplished the really hard workout that took me down last week. Persistent isn’t always a good thing. Not only did I accomplish it, I doubled up exercises that weren’t squats. I kicked butt. This doesn’t even include the warmup that I forgot to start my Apple Watch. I would have had an additional 15 minutes but my heart rate average would have been lower. Not a bad workout with resistance bands. For my age and disability that is a…
