A day in the life with multiple sclerosis.
Cut the anchor of your past

Cut the anchor of your past

I was watching old episodes of Sex in the city last night as I went to bed and heard such a great analogy about the past. The past is an anchor pulling you down and until you release that anchor you can’t float up to the person you’re supposed to be. I may have paraphrased slightly, it was 3am, but you get the message. I thought that was pretty profound and completely true. I probably didn’t pay much attention the…

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween

It’s Halloween today and unfortunately it is a rainy day here in NY. Not ideal trick or treating weather for kids. I live in a building so any kids that live here can come and ring the door bell for some candy staying dry and filling up their goody bag but no outsiders can come. This is such a fun holiday that gets out of control when your a teenager. I remember getting candy as well as having massive shaving…

Wednesday update

Wednesday update

First an update from the blisters and Rituxan Blisters and Rituxan. Doctor wants me to start washing all my clothes in free and clear detergents. I really could have called that one. She wants to rule out allergic reaction to any detergent regardless how long I’ve been using it. I get that understandable but the bras I’ve been wearing lately are actual bras. Like with the clasp bras. Bras I gave up on years ago because my hands can’t do…

Blisters and Rituxan

Blisters and Rituxan

I am at my doctor’s office for an appointment that has been canceled twice. Checking on those blisters that are still appearing under my breast. Blisters on breast. Allergic reaction to Rituxan. Originally deemed an allergic reaction to Rituxan because they appeared within hours of doing the infusion, they are still appearing. My neurologist was the only person who didn’t think it was a reaction to Rituxan even though it said specifically on the Rituxan site: https://www.rituxan.com/patient/starting-rituxan/rituxan-safety-information.html Severe Skin and…

Apple Watch here I come

Apple Watch here I come

Down I went. I was in the wheelchair all day. I walked with the walker for all of 5 steps before I missed stepped. I ended up smacking my head into three surfaces on the way down to land with the walker on top of me and my ass in the dogs water bowl. There I was stuck and dazed trying to roll myself over to somehow get up. That took longer than I care to admit. When I achieved…

Water heater cleanup

Water heater cleanup

Well yesterday was an extremely busy day. Starting at about 9 o’clock, the insurances cleanup crew came. I never expected them to be here until after 6 o’clock. However I must say they did an extremely good job. They were working side-by-side with the man who took out the old water heater and put in my new water heater. he didn’t finish though until 7 o’clock. It was just hustle and bustle in and out all day long in…

Water heater flooded downstairs unit

Water heater flooded downstairs unit

I’m playing mahjong yesterday when my cellphone rings. I didn’t recognize the number but they left a message. The message was from my condo that water was pouring into the apartment beneath me from my apartment call ASAP!!! So I called and something was happening and water was coming down in gallons. I go out once a week and this is the one day I wasn’t home. I luckily have a code lock on my door and gave it to…

Thursday dealings

Thursday dealings

We played trivia pursuit in the condo club yesterday and I’m happy to report I actually knew some answers. For once I helped my team. We didn’t win because we didn’t finish the game but we were in second place. I was proud. That is not an easy game especially the original edition. They are officially doing work on the empty lot for that hotel. I still can’t find any new plans since the one from 2015 but work has…

Zoey has a life long knee problem

Zoey has a life long knee problem

My poor Zoey. I took her to the vet yesterday because she’s been limping on her back paw every now and then. Other times she is fine jumping and running like normal. I thought it was a strange quirk. It’s not. Her left back knee is popping out and her hopping is her actually trying to put it back in place. There is a name for it but I don’t remember it. It has something to do with the lack…

Thank you everyone for my handicap van

Thank you everyone for my handicap van

Bubba is back. Bubba is the name I gave to my handicap van. He’s a big boy so Bubba seemed fitting. Turned out it only needed a battery. Good to know that even as the battery dies the ramp still works. Well $200 later he is fixed, sort of. The back sensors that were installed when I bought the car aren’t working. I asked the place that was fixing the car to fix those too but they can only be…
