Weird MS symptoms are my normal

Weird MS symptoms are my normal

Do you get those weird symptoms from MS? I’ve blogged about them before but sometimes they come out of nowhere and they are so annoying. Today it is like my bra is too tight and it’s cutting into the left side under my breast. Wouldn’t be so wacky if it didn’t start while I was in bed not wearing a bra!!!! Only on the left side too never the right. I’ve had this crazy feeling before actually many times and…

Finally relief

Finally relief

So after my gastroenterologist visit I was given stuff to do to “clean me out” Gastroenterologist visit. This is the same kind of prep for a colonoscopy. I had to take magnesium citrate and I was so nervous about having an accident. I took it and waited, and waited, and waited. This is supposed to work within 30 minutes to 3 hours. Eight hours later nothing. Finally the following morning I went a little, far from the “cleaned out” goal….

My handicap accessible bathroom

My handicap accessible bathroom

I had to get work done in my condo. I needed to make my bathroom handicap accessible. It is inside. I have a grab bar and a stall shower but the doorway was so small I couldn’t get my walker in let alone my wheelchair. It was on the list of things to do to make my life at home more accessible. I have two bathrooms in my condo. I usually use my daughter’s because I keep my bedroom door…

Gastroenterologist visit

Gastroenterologist visit

I have to say this was a really nice office. The whole staff was super nice but the doctor was extremely nice. He spent a lot of time with me discussing the issues with constipation and multiple sclerosis. What a nice man he was. After a lengthy conversation together, the diagnosis was chronic constipation. Nothing shocking there, I knew that as did my referring neurologist. It was what should we do about it that needed an answer. He asked me…

Neurologist appointment complete

I didn’t cry. I didn’t leave happy but I didn’t cry. I don’t leave with good news anymore so it is hard to be upbeat. I had three things on my list to discuss: Bathroom issue Fatigue Weight All discussed in my blog yesterday Neurologist check in tomorrow. This was the outcome. Bathroom. I was correct and I’m sorry to say this is a common problem amongst people with multiple sclerosis, due to lack of muscle control to lead to…

Neurologist check in tomorrow

Neurologist check in tomorrow

I have one of my neurologist appointments tomorrow. I have two neurologists. One is the specialist in NYC at one of the big hospitals. She prescribes my main MS drug, currently Rituxan, plus recommends anything in clinical trials like biotin or statins. She’s a great neurologist but I don’t consider her my main neurologist. That is the one I have the appointment with tomorrow. This is the neurologist that diagnosed me 21+ years ago and has been my doctor the…

Hot Flash Symptoms and Multiple Sclerosis

Hot Flash Symptoms and Multiple Sclerosis

I had physical therapy in the morning. I didn’t do everyone of my exercises but I did all of my hard ones. My therapist and I cut it short because I actually started overheating. My cheeks turn red is my first sign. I start becoming warm even though I may or may not be doing much and then I start sweating. With that my MS symptoms get worse. This is why I rarely wear blush on my cheeks because I’d…

Falling again all week

Falling again all week

I’ve been really good lately. Especially since I switched to my wheelchair outside my condo. I went from falling almost daily to a couple of times in a month. That’s a big difference. It goes to show you how much the walking was really causing me to just exhausted myself. Yes I needed the van to make my life easier but I also needed to admit to myself the time has come and I really couldn’t walk anymore. It was…

Fatigue is never easy

Fatigue is never easy

The heat, the heat is here and it is not making life an easier. I played mahjong and I could barely hold myself upright by the end of the game and I was in AC. The heat finds it way into your bones and still manages to fatigue you regardless of where you are. I came home and collapsed. I was in bed by 9 and slept through the night until 4. I’m exhausted still. I sleep I’m exhausted, I…
