My review of the massage gun

My review of the massage gun

I have to talk about my purchase of the massage gun. A massage gun for spasticity. I wanted one for some time but kept putting it off. They weren’t cheap. I kept thinking is they’d be like those massagers you got at drugstore that you used for a week and never used it again. These are NOT the ones sold at the drugstore. I learned that really fast. First thing these are super powerful. I have not had the power…

Multiple sclerosis issues at non opportune times

Multiple sclerosis issues at non opportune times

today is going much better than yesterday. I even stayed in bed a little longer today which was nice. Then I got a whole Lotta Lovin from my puppies. I got up, fed everybody, brushed my teeth and worked out. I did my flexibility stuff and then finished yesterday’s workout. That always makes me happy . Not that I really doubted myself, but I’m glad I finished it. I don’t like things done halfway. Now I’m back on my…

A massage gun for spasticity

A massage gun for spasticity

Yesterday I purchased one of those massage guns. I’ve been looking at them for a while because sometimes I’m in such pain from spasticity. Last night was one of those nights where out of nowhere my whole back a neck tightened. I always describe this like someone took a fork and twisted it like they were trying to get spaghetti twirled around. Except it’s not spaghetti it’s my tendons. The area just becomes so tight so fast. It starts at…

Ugh frustrated

Ugh frustrated

I’m in a crabby mood today. I’m frustrated. They finally called me about my wheelchair at 5:30 last night. I didn’t recognize the number so I didn’t pick it up and they told me to call back. Of course they close at five so calling back did nothing. I’ve been dealing with this chair that looks like this It has been incredibly difficult let alone not safe. I’m frustrated trying to maneuver and not hit things because I’m steering almost…

Goal accomplished

Goal accomplished

I accomplished the really hard workout that took me down last week. Persistent isn’t always a good thing. Not only did I accomplish it, I doubled up exercises that weren’t squats. I kicked butt. This doesn’t even include the warmup that I forgot to start my Apple Watch. I would have had an additional 15 minutes but my heart rate average would have been lower. Not a bad workout with resistance bands. For my age and disability that is a…

A bad day can be just that, a day

A bad day can be just that, a day

For the many bad days of multiple sclerosis, there are better ones as well. Yesterday was one of those days. I started off with a workout as usual. My energy level was definitely high and I was able to double up on all the arm exercises. I had one of those workouts where I was sweating and my heart was pumping. I was tired but in a good way when I was finished. The way you should feel after a…

Sometimes I wish it wasn’t so damn hard

Sometimes I wish it wasn’t so damn hard

Friday was a tough day. I wrote how it started Persistent isn’t always a good thing but it never got better. I was exhausted most of the afternoon. My older sister came for a quick visit with her family but she too was having a tough week. I opened a bottle of wine for her. She poured some for the both of us. One of my favorite wines a JLohr Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to dinners with my dad, I always…

Persistent isn’t always a good thing

Persistent isn’t always a good thing

Rough morning and it was completely my fault. I decided to wear jeans today for the first time in 8 months. I figured now that I’m wearing this nightgown to bed, let’s not dress like a slob. I got my pants on with a little effort. I don’t unbutton or unzip my jeans since it is difficult for my hands to latch buttons. My pants fit but they usually come up with slightly less effort. I’m not sure if it…

Simple things to make life a little easier

Simple things to make life a little easier

First let me say happy Veterans Day. A very grateful thank you for all that have served in our military forces. That is truly a brave and courageous act that should never be unrecognized by any citizen of the United States. I was supposed to have my yearly physical yesterday. It took me two months to get this appointment because of Covid. I was called early in the morning that the doctor had to cancel because she was unwell. I…

New physical therapist

New physical therapist

I had my physical therapy evaluation yesterday at 3 o’clock. I thought the time alone would be a complete disaster. I worked out yesterday from 9 to 10 AM. I had my beautiful sister here from about 11 to 1:30. I I thought I was exhausted but oddly enough I really had a second wind. First I must honestly say I loved this guy. He comes into my house and the first thing he does is greet my dogs. The…
