I knew I shouldn’t write that about falling. I was playing mahjong yesterday and we were actually playing here in my building. It was one of those days where I was just not holding up very well in the game and I was having difficulties keeping up right. OK, it happens. I wasn’t going to stop playing because I was so happy. I haven’t played in so long. my bladder has been really cooperative and I don’t normally have to go the entire time I play. I drink very little because at the temple we play at it is difficult for me to get to the bathroom. Yet this time I was home so I didn’t quite limit my drinks. However in the middle of a hand I had to excuse myself to go to the bathroom. I held it in way too long and I was bordering on an accident if I didn’t get up and go.  However now I was rushed. Big mistake!!!
I was trying to position my chair as close to the toilet as possible because there are no handrails in the licker room bathroom and as soon as I got up and went to turn, I lost my footing and slid down to the floor in between the scooter and the toilet. I was stuck. I tried moving the scooter out of the way but by then I’m on the floor and had no grip or anything to help pull me up. My phone was in the card room. I was wearing my Apple Watch but downstairs Internet could be very sketchy and it’s very difficult to type on an Apple Watch. I was trying to speak a message to my Mahjong friends that I slipped and needed assistance. I couldn’t get the message to go through. Finally I got a message through to my daughter, who was luckily upstairs in my apartment, she came down got me up. I still didn’t even get to the bathroom yet and I made it without the accident. That was a miracle in itself.
When I return to my mahjong table, my group was about to come into the bathroom worried about me when my daughter came in to tell them what happened. They know sometimes that it could take me a little longer to use the lavatory than most people so they were trying to give me some time. Anyway as we continued with the hand, I had no idea what I was playing anymore and was slightly frazzled so I did not make my hand. Yet we continued with the game for another hour and I fought through and still had a great time.
