Done, done and done

Done, done and done

Yesterday was the second part to my Ocrevus infusion. My next appointment is February 26, 2018.  The all the headaches that it took me to get on Ocrevus and then all the headaches it took getting the infusion site, I’m happy to say I am done with this infusion. As expected, the infusion was smooth I had no allergic reactions of any sort. Other than being extremely tired from the Benedryl that goes through the IV line, I felt fine. I went to sleep at 9pm last night. I will be happy if I don’t have to write another blog about Ocrevus for the next 6 months. Actually, I’d like to write a blog that Ocrevus seems to have stabled my MS or even slightly made some of my symptoms better. That will be a blog I would look forward to writing. If Ocrevus is as close to Rituxan as I believe it is, I don’t think I’ll be writing a blog about a miraculous transformation. My goal is what it has always been, stabilization.

During my infusion, I also received a call from my insurance company case manager about the increased nursing hours. I’m happy to report that was approved. Starting Monday my aide will be  eight hours five days a week. That is another task done. This will still be an adjustment for me as to what I am going to do with an aide for 8 hours a day. However it also opens up doors for me. Things I wouldn’t normally do because it’s too much for me getting my walker in and out of the car, I now have help. I hated to admit it, but it was the right thing for me. I need to look at this in a positive light and stop fighting the thought that I’m 45 and need a full-time aide. Accept and adapt, right?

Today also marks the last day of my daughter’s week at college. She has no classes on Friday, nice right? She’ll be coming home this afternoon for the weekend. I probably won’t see her much but I’m looking forward to seeing her even if it’s briefly.

Things should settle down now for me next week because I feel like they’ve been super hectic and busy. Some good, some bad but all life so I’m not complaining.
